Özet
Romantik Dönem'de etüt, virtüözite ve teknik gelişimle beraber müzikalite ve sanatsal değer taşıyan bağımsız konser eserleri niteliği kazanmıştır. Bu formu zirveye taşıyan besteciler arasında öne çıkan Franz Liszt, piyano etütlerinde teknik zorluk, virtüözite ve program müziği unsurlarını bir araya getirerek etüt gelişimine önemli katkılar sağlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, piyano edebiyatında etüt kavramının Barok Dönem'den itibaren gelişimi, Romantik Dönem'de serbest forma dönüşerek konser repertuvarına giren etüt formunun biçimsel ve işlevsel değişimi incelenmiştir. Dönemin etüt anlayışına katkı sağlayan besteciler belirlenmiş ve Franz Liszt'in tüm etütleri yapı, biçim, teknik ve müzikal açıdan analiz edilerek bunlara ilişkin çalışma yapılmıştır. Tezin birinci bölümünde, etüt kavramı, 17.- 18. yüzyıl bestecilerinin günümüzde önem taşıyan etütleri ve Romantik Dönem'e kadar olan değişimi anlatılmıştır. Daha sonra, 19.yüzyıl Romantizm akımından bahsedilmiş, Dönemin müzik ve etüt gelişimi incelenmiş ve Romantik Dönem bestecilerinin etütleri araştırılmıştır. Son olarak, Franz Liszt'in kariyer hayatı, müziğe katkıları ve tüm etütleri incelenmiştir. Bunun sonucunda 24 etütteki teknik, müzikal amaç ve kazanımlar ortaya konulmuştur.

During the Romantic Period, the etude acquired the character of independent concert pieces possessing musicality and artistic value, along with virtuosity and technical development. Franz Liszt, a prominent composer who brought this form to its peak, significantly contributed to its development by combining technical difficulty, virtuosity, and program music elements in his piano etudes. This study examines the development of the etude concept in piano literature from the Baroque Period onwards, and the formal and functional changes of the etude form, which transformed into a free form in the Romantic Period and entered the concert repertoire. Composers who contributed to the etude understanding of the Period have been identified, and all of Franz Liszt's etudes have been analyzed in terms of structure, form, technique, and musicality. The first part of the thesis describes the concept of the etude, the significant etudes of 17th and 18th-century composers, and its evolution up to the Romantic Period. It then discusses the Romantic movement of the 19th century, examines the development of music and etudes during this Period, and investigates the etudes of Romantic composers. Finally, Franz Liszt's career, contributions to music, and all his etudes are examined. As a result, the technical and musical aims and achievements in 24 etudes are presented.
