Özet

ÖZET Bu araştırma, ilköğretim 4. ve 5. sınıf Yabancı Dil (İngilizce) öğretim Programına ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemek üzere yapılmıştır. Araştırma evrenini Kırşehir ili merkezi ve ilçelerindeki Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı devlet okullarında görev yapan, ingilizce dersini yürüten, 78 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Evrenin tamamı üzerinde çalışıldığı için örneklem seçme yoluna gidilmemiştir. Araştırma betimsel niteliktedir. Öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemek amacı ile geliştirilen veri toplama aracı, tez danışmanı ve ilgili uzmanların görüşleri doğrultusunda araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiştir. 22 öğretmen üzerinde yapılan ön deneme uygulamasından sonra, öğretmen anketlerine son şekil verilmiştir. Anket iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde kişisel bilgilere yönelik 2 madde, ikinci bölümde programın hedefler boyutuna ilişkin 9 madde, içeriğin düzenlenmesine ilişkin 12 madde, eğitim durumlarına yönelik 15 madde, sınama durumlarının düzenlenmesine yönelik ise 6 madde olmak üzere toplam 42 madde bulunmaktadır. Bu bölümde yer alan maddelerden 1 tanesi açık uçlu, diğer 41 madde beşli likert tipi ölçeğe uygun olarak hazırlanmıştır. Anket yolu ile elde edilen verilerin, amaçlara uygun olarak, frekans (f), yüzde (%), aritmetik ortalama (x) ve standart sapmaları (ss) hesaplanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin öğrenim durumlarına ve kıdemlerine göre görüşleri arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığına t testi kullanılarak bakılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda elde edilen bulgular tablolara yerleştirilerek yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmada hedefler, içerik, eğitim durumları ve sınama durumlarına ilişkin görüşlerin“Kararsızım”düzeyinde yoğunlaştığı görülmektedir. *,SBBWAraştırma sonucunda; Programın, hedefler kısmına ilişkin görüşler açısından Ortalama olarak öğretmenler (3,33)“Kararsızım”düzeyinde, içerik kısmına ilişkin görüşler açısından ortalama olarak öğretmenler (3,41)“Kararsızım”düzeyinde, eğitim durumlarına ilişkin olarak öğretmenler (3,1 1)“Kararsızım”düzeyinde, sınama durumlarına ilişkin olarak öğretmenler (2,93)“Kararsızım”düzeyinde görüş bildirmişlerdir. Araştırmada hedefler, içerik, eğitim durumları ve sınama durumlarına yönelik öğretmen görüşleri arasındaki fark anlamlı bulunamamıştır.

Ill ABSTRACT This study is focused to determine the opinion of the teachers about teaching a foreign language (English) in forth and fifth classes in primary schools. 78 teachers working in the schools as English teachers in Kirşehir and its districts are the universe of this research. Because of the study on whole universe, there is no sample. This study is descriptive to determine the opinion of the teachers, data collecting means has been developed by the researchers related to the opinion of the adviser and experts. After pre-trial on 22 teachers, the last from of the questionnaire has been attained. The questionnaire consists of two parts related to the personal information about the teachers, in the second part there are nine items related to the objectives of the programme and 12 items are in terms of the organization of the content, 15 items about the learning situations and 6 items to arrange testing situations, so totally 42 items. One of the items included in this part has been done by open-ended scale, while the other 41 items have been done by means of likert type. Considering the objectives, frequency (f), percentage (%), arithmetic mean (x), and standard deviation (ss) of data collected have been found by the help of survey. T test has been used to see if there is a meaningful difference among the opinions of the teachers in terms of their learning situations and their teaching experience. The results attained from the analysis have been interpreted by using tables. It has been seen that the opinions considering the objectives, content, learning situations and testing situations have condensely gathered at the part of“Undecided”.IV At the end of the survey; according to the objectives of programme the teachers show to inform on an average (3,33) level of“Undecided”, according to the content of programme the teachers show to inform on an average (3,41) level of“Undecided”, according to the learning situations, the teachers show to inform on an average (3,11) level of“Undecided”, according to the testing situations of programme the teachers show to inform on an average (2,93) level of“Undecided”. The difference among the opinions of teachers related to the objectives, content, learning situations and testing situations hasn't been found meaningful.
