Özet
Bu çalışmada, altı şapkalı düşünme tekniğinin bilim ve sanat merkezlerinde öğrenim gören ortaokul öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler dersindeki akademik başarılarına olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2025–2026 eğitim-öğretim yılında Bitlis ili Tatvan ilçesinde bulunan Tatvan BİLSEM'in iki şubesinde öğrenim gören toplam otuz öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Öğrenciler, altı şapkalı düşünme tekniğinin uygulandığı deney grubu ve geleneksel öğretim yönteminin kullanıldığı kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma deseni benimsenmiş olup veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Sosyal Bilgiler Başarı Testi kullanılmıştır. Toplanan veriler normallik testi, varyans analizi, Cronbach's Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı ile bağımlı ve bağımsız örneklem t testleri aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. In this study, the effect of the Six Thinking Hats technique on the academic achievement of secondary school students studying at science and art centers in the social studies course was examined. The study group of the research consists of a total of thirty students attending two branches of Tatvan BİLSEM, located in the Tatvan district of Bitlis province, during the 2025–2026 academic year. The students were divided into two groups: an experimental group, in which the Six Thinking Hats technique was applied, and a control group, in which traditional teaching methods were used. The study adopted a quantitative research design, and the Social Studies Achievement Test developed by the researcher was used as the data collection tool. The collected data were analyzed using normality tests, variance analysis, Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient, and dependent and independent sample t-tests. The analysis results show that the achievement scores of the experimental group, in which the technique was applied, were statistically significantly higher than those of the control group (p < .05). The results indicate that the technique is effective in increasing students' academic achievement. These findings highlight the potential contribution of integrating the Six Thinking Hats technique into educational processes for academic success and provide a basis for future research on the applicability of the method in different learning environments.
