ÖZ YÜKSEK LİSANS TEZİ FARKLI KADEMELERDE EĞİTİM-ÖĞRETİM GÖREN ÖĞRENCİLERİN VATANSEVERLİK ALGISI Ersin YURDAKUL Mayıs 2026, 143 Sayfa Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, farklı eğitim kademelerinde (ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise) öğrenim gören öğrencilerin vatanseverlik değerine ilişkin algılarını incelemektir. Bu kapsamda öğrencilerin vatanseverlik değerini hangi duygu, sembol ve davranışlarla ilişkilendirdikleri ve eğitim kademelerine göre algılarında farklılık olup olmadığı belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma, nitel araştırma yaklaşımı çerçevesinde fenomenoloji (olgubilim) desenine göre yürütülmüştür. Çalışma grubunu, Erzurum il merkezinde öğrenim gören ilkokul 4. sınıf, ortaokul 8. sınıf ve lise 12. sınıf düzeyindeki toplam 36 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılar maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Araştırma verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ve metafor tekniği aracılığıyla toplanmış, elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ile çözümlenerek tema ve kategoriler oluşturulmuştur. Bulgular: Araştırma bulgularına göre öğrencilerin vatanseverlik algıları; yapıcı vatanseverlik, kör/koşulsuz bağlılık, sembolik ve duygusal bağlılık ile aidiyet temaları etrafında şekillenmektedir. Ortaokul ve lise düzeyinde ise eleştirel vatanseverlik anlayışının da ortaya çıktığı görülmüştür. Eğitim kademeleri incelendiğinde ilkokul öğrencilerinin vatanseverliği daha çok günlük yaşam davranışları ve duygusal bağlılık üzerinden anlamlandırdığı; ortaokul öğrencilerinin bu değeri sorumluluk, üretkenlik ve toplumsal katkı ile ilişkilendirdiği; lise öğrencilerinin ise daha soyut, çok boyutlu ve eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla değerlendirdiği belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca tüm kademelerde bayrak, marş ve törenler gibi sembolik unsurların önemli bir yere sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuçlar: Bu araştırma, vatanseverlik algısının eğitim kademelerine göre farklılaştığını ortaya koymaktadır. İlkokul düzeyinde daha çok somut ve duygusal boyutta ifade edilen vatanseverlik algısının, ortaokul ve lise düzeylerinde daha eleştirel, çok boyutlu ve soyut bir yapıya dönüştüğü görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte vatanseverlik; bağlılık, aidiyet ve eleştirel yaklaşım gibi farklı boyutlarıyla tüm eğitim kademelerinde varlığını sürdürmektedir. Bu durum, vatanseverlik değerinin gelişimsel ve çok boyutlu bir yapıya sahip olduğunu göstermektedir.

ABSTRACT MASTER'S THESIS THE PATRIOTIC PERCEPTION OF STUDENTS RECEIVING EDECATION AT DIFFERENT Ersin YURDAKUL May 2026, 143 Pages Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the perceptions of patriotism among students at different educational levels (primary school, lower secondary school and upper secondary school). In this context, the study sought to determine which emotions, symbols and behaviours students associate with patriotism, and whether there are differences in their perceptions according to their educational level. Method: The research was conducted using a phenomenological design within the framework of a qualitative research approach. The study group consisted of a total of 36 students studying in the 4th year of primary school, the 8th year of lower secondary school and the 12th year of upper secondary school in the provincial centre of Erzurum. Participants were selected using the maximum diversity sampling method. Research data were collected via a semi-structured interview form and the metaphor technique; the data obtained were analysed using content analysis to identify themes and categories. Findings: According to the research findings, students' perceptions of patriotism are shaped around themes of constructive patriotism, blind/unconditional loyalty, symbolic and emotional attachment, and a sense of belonging. At secondary and sixth-form level, a critical understanding of patriotism has also emerged. When examining educational levels, it was determined that primary school pupils interpret patriotism primarily through daily life behaviours and emotional attachment; secondary school pupils associate this value with responsibility, productivity and social contribution; whilst sixth-form students evaluate it from a more abstract, multi-dimensional and critical perspective. Furthermore, it was observed that symbolic elements such as the flag, the national anthem and ceremonies hold an important place at all levels. Conclusions: This study reveals that perceptions of patriotism vary according to educational level. It has been observed that while perceptions of patriotism at primary school level are expressed primarily in concrete and emotional terms, they take on a more critical, multidimensional and abstract form at secondary school and sixth form levels. Nevertheless, patriotism continues to exist across all educational levels through its various dimensions, such as loyalty, a sense of belonging and a critical approach. This indicates that the value of patriotism possesses a developmental and multidimensional structure.
