Özet

İnanç, insanın anlam, amaç ve değer arayışının merkezinde yer alan temel bir olgudur. Din psikolojisi, bireyin içsel çatışmalarını, umut ve kaygılarını, Tanrı ile kurduğu ilişkiyi ve manevi yönelimlerini anlamada önemli bir çerçeve sunar. Modern toplumsal ve kültürel değişimler, sekülerleşme süreçleri ve teknolojik gelişmeler, bireylerin inanç ve inançsızlık yönelimlerini şekillendiren önemli etkenler arasında yer almaktadır. Bu çalışma, din psikolojisi perspektifiyle inanç ve inançsızlık olgularını psikolojik, toplumsal ve varoluşsal boyutlarıyla ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada, inanç ve inançsızlığın bireysel ve toplumsal etkenlerle ilişkisi kuramsal olarak incelenmiş; klasik ve modern psikologların görüşleri ile İslam perspektifine dair değerlendirmeler dikkate alınmıştır. Tez üç ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde din psikolojisinin konusu, önemi ve yöntemi tanıtılmış; insan doğası, inanç ve inançsızlık kavramları kuramsal temelde açıklanmıştır. İkinci bölümde, inancın psikolojik temelleri ve ilgili kuramsal yaklaşımlar ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise inançsızlığın psikolojik, toplumsal ve varoluşsal nedenleri incelenmiş ve kapsamlı bir değerlendirme sunulmuştur. Çalışmanın bulguları, inanç ve inançsızlık olgularının anlaşılmasında psikolojik ve toplumsal etkenlerin önemini ortaya koymakta ve din psikolojisi alanında yapılacak kuramsal çalışmalara katkı sağlamayı hedeflemektedir.

Belief is a fundamental phenomenon at the core of the human search for meaning, purpose, and values. The psychology of religion provides an important framework for understanding individuals' internal conflicts, hopes, and anxieties, as well as their relationship with God and their spiritual orientations. Modern social and cultural transformations, processes of secularization, and technological developments are among the significant factors shaping individuals' tendencies toward belief and unbelief. This study aims to examine the phenomena of belief and unbelief from the perspective of the psychology of religion, taking into consideration their psychological, social, and existential dimensions. The relationship between belief and unbelief and individual as well as societal factors has been analyzed theoretically, drawing on the views of classical and modern psychologists, together with evaluations from the Islamic perspective. The thesis is structured into three main chapters. The first chapter introduces the subject, significance, and methodology of the psychology of religion and provides a theoretical explanation of human nature, belief, and unbelief. The second chapter explores the psychological foundations of belief and the relevant theoretical approaches. The third chapter investigates the psychological, social, and existential factors underlying unbelief and presents a comprehensive evaluation. The findings of this study highlight the importance of psychological and social factors in understanding belief and unbelief and aim to contribute to future theoretical research in the field of the psychology of religion.
