Özet
Bu çalışmada, Plotinos'un maddeye dair açıklamalarından neşet eden ve filozofun her şeyin yegâne nedeni olarak konumlandırdığı Bir ilkesi karşısında maddenin meydana getirdiği düalite problemi çözüme kavuşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, söz konusu problemi literatürde yaygın olduğu üzere yalnızca duyulur madde üzerinden çözme stratejisi reddedilmiş; akledilir madde ile ilk maddeyi de soruşturmaya dâhil eden bütüncül bir çözüm önerisi geliştirilmiştir. Filozofun madde kuramını tüm boyutlarıyla kuşatabilmek adına, maddeyi ele aldığı II.4 numaralı Ennead ile potansiyellik anlayışını incelediği II.5 numaralı Ennead arasındaki yapısal süreklilik ortaya konmuştur. Tezin temel iddiası; ilk madde, akledilir madde ve duyulur madde arasındaki süreklilik ile maddenin potansiyelliği üzerine inşa edilen bu bütüncül yapı neticesinde, maddenin hiçbir aşamasında Bir'e karşı bir düalite yaratmadığının gösterilebileceği yönündedir.

In this study, the problem of duality generated by matter against the One—which the philosopher posits as the sole cause of everything—stemming from Plotinus' accounts of matter has been attempted to be resolved. For this purpose, instead of the prevalent strategy in the literature that seeks to resolve this problem solely through sensible matter, a comprehensive solution model has been developed by incorporating intelligible matter and prime matter into the discussion. In line with this objective, in order to encompass the philosopher's theory of matter, the structural continuity between Ennead II.4, where he conceptualizes matter, and Ennead II.5, where he investigates potentiality, has been demonstrated. The central thesis of this study maintains that as a result of the framework constructed upon the continuity among prime matter, intelligible matter, and sensible matter, alongside the potentiality of matter, it can be demonstrated that matter does not create a duality against the One at any stage of its existence.
