Özet
Ahlak felsefesinin bir araştırma konusu olarak erdem kavramı, felsefe tarihinde Sokrates'ten itibaren pek çok filozof tarafından ele alınmıştır. Bu kavram, antik dünyanın iki büyük filozofu olan Platon ve Aristoteles'in felsefelerinde, daha sonra Yeni-Platonculuk'ta ve onun önemli temsilcilerinden biri olan Plotinos'un felsefesinde kendisine önemli bir yer bulur. Yunan felsefesinin önemli kaynaklarının İslam dünyasına ulaşmasıyla, erdem kavramı, İslam felsefesi açısından da dikkate değer bir tartışma konusu haline gelmiştir. Tezimiz, İslam felsefesinin kurucusu ve Aristotelesçi bir filozof olan Farabi'nin düşüncesinde erdem kavramının yerini belirlemeyi, erdem kavramını geliştirirken felsefesinde Aristoteles etkisi bulunup bulunmadığına yanıt bulmayı, eğer bu etki mevcut ise farklı kültür ve dini çevrelerden gelen bu iki filozofun ortak bir erdem anlayışında buluşmasının nasıl mümkün olduğunu ortaya koymayı amaçlar. Tezimizin hipotezi, Farabi'nin, Aristoteles'in erdem anlayışından etkilenmiş olduğu ve bir İslam filozofu olarak farklı bir kültür çevresinden gelmiş olan bu kavramı sahiplenebilmesine, onun, erdemli din ile burhânî felsefenin çelişmeyeceği ve gerçek filozofların aynı hakikati söyleyeceği şeklindeki düşüncesinin imkan vermiş olduğudur.

The concept of virtue as a subject of study of philosophy of ethics has been addressed by many philosophers in the history of philosophy, starting with Socrates. This concept finds an important place for itself in the philosophies of Plato and Aristotle, the two great philosophers of the ancient world, and later in Neo-Platonism, as well as in the philosophy of Plotinus, one of his important representatives. With the access of important sources of Greek philosophy to the Islamic world, the concept of virtue has also become a notable topic of discussion from the point of view of Islamic philosophy. Our thesis aims to determine the place of the concept of virtue in the thought of Al-Farabi, the founder of Islamic philosophy as an Aristotelian philosopher, to find an answer to whether there is an Aristotelian influence in his philosophy when developing the concept of virtue and to reveal how it was possible for these two philosophers from different cultural and religious circles to meet in a common understanding of virtue if this influence is present. The hypothesis of our thesis is that Farabi coming from a different cultural environment as an Islamic philosopher was influenced by Aristotle's understanding of virtue and that his idea that virtuous religion and analytical philosophy would not contradict and that real philosophers would tell the same truth.
