Özet
Global Jeopotansiyel Modeller (GJM), yer yuvarının gravite alanını temsil etmek, fiziksel jeodezi uygulamalarına altlık oluşturmak ve yükseklik sistemlerini tanımlamak amacıyla kullanılan temel araçlardandır. Günümüzde, Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE), Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) gibi uydu gravite misyonları ve yersel verilerin birleşimiyle üretilen yüksek çözünürlüklü modeller, bölgesel gravite alanının modellenmesinde büyük kolaylıklar sağlamaktadır.
Global Geopotential Models (GGMs) are fundamental tools used to represent the Earth's gravity field, provide a basis for physical geodesy applications, and define height systems. Today, high-resolution models produced by combining satellite gravity missions such as the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and the Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) with terrestrial data greatly facilitate the modeling of regional gravity fields. However, since the performance of these GGMs at the regional scale varies depending on topographic structure, data density, and local datum discrepancies, testing them with high-precision terrestrial datasets is a scientific necessity. This thesis evaluates the performance of different GGMs (EGM2008, EIGEN-6C4, GECO, SGG-UGM-1, and XGM2019e_2159) in representing the gravity field in the region of Turkey encompassing the latitude range of 36°– 40.5° N and the longitude range of 26°– 45° E. Using these models provided by the International Centre for Global Earth Models (ICGEM), the values of Bouguer gravity anomaly, free-air gravity anomaly, surface gravity, gravity disturbance, height anomaly, and geoid height were calculated in the World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84) and Geodetic Reference System 1980 (GRS80) systems. To examine the effect of model design parameters on the calculations, tidal systems (tidal-free, mean tidal, and zero tidal) and zero-degree term variations were analyzed separately. The obtained model values were compared with 9373 terrestrial gravity and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)/Leveling points provided by the General Directorate of Mapping (HGM) and included in Turkey's national gravity standardization network (TRGrav-Net), and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) values were calculated for each model. In particular, to eliminate errors arising from grid interpolation in geoid height determination studies, calculations were performed directly on the measurement points using a ''user-defined'' method. Furthermore, a 7 parameter transformation model was applied to correct the datum shift between the geoid heights obtained from GJMs and the ''Turkish National Vertical Control Network,'' which was accepted as the local vertical datum within the scope of this study, and the improvements in RMSE values after the transformation were evaluated. As a result of the evaluations and analyses, it was determined that the EGM2008 model gave the lowest RMSE values for gravity disturbance, Bouguer and free-air gravity anomalies, the XGM2019e_2159 model gave the lowest RMSE values for surface gravity calculations, and the EIGEN-6C4 model gave the lowest RMSE values for height anomaly calculations. In geoid height calculations, while the EIGEN-6C4 model gave the lowest error when considering the simple model data, the SGG-UGM-1 model showed the statistically best performance with the lowest RMSE value after the 7 parameter transformation model process in which systematic differences were eliminated. Although the numerical differences obtained as a result of the analyses based on reference systems, tidal systems and zero-degree term parameters were small, it is recommended to use the GRS80 geodetic reference system in the calculations to ensure full compatibility and conceptual consistency with national geodetic networks. Furthermore, for Bouguer gravity anomalies, a combination is proposed that includes the tidal system and the zero-degree term in terrestrial gravity analyses, while for free-air gravity anomalies, gravity disturbances, height anomalies, and geoid height analyses, a combination is proposed that excludes the mean tidal system and the zero-degree term from the calculations.
