In this study, an Electronic Differential System (EDS) was designed and STM32F4-based control was implemented for a mobile robot driven by a Brushless Direct Current Motor (BLDCM). BLDCMs, which are increasingly used due to their high efficiency, ease of maintenance, smooth and quiet operation at high speeds, were chosen as the drive element for the mobile robot. The BLDCM and its drive element, a fourwheel-drive mobile robot, were modeled using mathematical equations in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The models were combined in the MATLAB/Simulink environment to create the control system. The created system was first controlled with a Full-Order PID (FUOPID) controller whose parameters were determined by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Subsequently, the system was controlled with a Fractional-Order PID (FOPID) controller, whose parameters were also determined by PSO, and which is becoming increasingly common today. To examine the real-time performance of the proposed system, a simultaneous simulation model was created using the STM32F4 microcontroller and MATLAB/Simulink, and the obtained results were compared. The results show that the system controlled by the FOPID controller performs better than the system controlled by the FUOPID controller.
