Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, yaratıcı drama yönteminin 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin müzik dersine yönelik tutumları üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Denizli ilinde bir ortaokulun 5. sınıfında öğrenim gören 53 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Öğrenciler deney (n = 27) ve kontrol (n = 26) gruplarına ayrılmıştır. Araştırma 14 hafta süreyle yürütülmüştür. Uygulama sürecinde deney grubunda müzik dersleri yaratıcı drama yöntemiyle işlenirken, kontrol grubunda mevcut öğretim programı doğrultusunda dersler sürdürülmüştür. Araştırmanın verileri Akyüzlüer (2007) tarafından geliştirilen Müzik Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Kişisel Bilgi Formu aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler, bağımsız örneklemler t-testi, eşleştirilmiş örneklemler t-testi, Mann–Whitney U testi ve Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralama testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda deney grubunun ön test ve son test tutum puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Kontrol grubunda ise öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutum puanlarında anlamlı düzeyde düşüş belirlenmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının kazanım puanları ile son test puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık saptanmamıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin önceki müzik etkinliği deneyimleri, yaratıcı drama deneyimleri ve aile ortamındaki sanatsal etkinliklerin müzik dersine yönelik tutumları üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisinin olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, yaratıcı drama yönteminin öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarını istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde artırmadığını; ancak öğrencilerin mevcut tutumlarının korunmasına katkı sağlayabileceğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarının yalnızca öğretim yöntemlerinden değil, öğrenme ortamına ilişkin çeşitli değişkenlerden de etkilenebileceği değerlendirilmektedir.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the creative drama method on fifth-grade students' attitudes toward the music course. A quasi-experimental design, one of the quantitative research methods, was employed in the study. The study group consisted of 53 fifth-grade students attending a middle school in Denizli, Türkiye. The participants were assigned to an experimental group (n = 27) and a control group (n = 26). The study was conducted over a period of 14 weeks. During this process, music lessons in the experimental group were taught using the creative drama method, whereas the control group continued with the conventional instructional approach based on the existing curriculum. The data were collected using the Attitude Scale Toward the Music Course developed by Akyüzlüer (2007) and a Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, paired samples t-test, Mann–Whitney U test, and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that there was no statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test attitude scores of the experimental group. However, a significant decrease was observed in the attitude scores of the control group. In addition, no statistically significant differences were found between the gain scores or post-test scores of the experimental and control groups. Furthermore, previous participation in music-related activities, previous creative drama experience, and family involvement in artistic activities did not have a significant effect on students' attitudes toward the music course. The results indicated that the creative drama method did not produce a statistically significant increase in students' attitudes toward the music course. Nevertheless, the findings suggest that the method may contribute to maintaining students' existing attitudes toward the course. It was also concluded that attitudes toward the music course may be influenced not only by instructional methods but also by various factors related to the learning environment.
