Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, mesleki ve teknik Anadolu lisesi ve mesleki eğitim merkezi (MESEM) öğrencilerinin mesleki eğitime yönelik tutumlarını incelemektir. Yapılan bu çalışmada mesleki ve teknik Anadolu lisesi öğrencilerinin yanı sıra mesleki eğitim merkezlerinde eğitimlerini devam ettiren öğrencilerin mesleki eğitime yönelik tutumuna da yer verildiği için önem arz etmektedir. Araştırmada, nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin birlikte kullanıldığı karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Nicel araştırma desenleri kullanılarak elde edilen bulgular nitel araştırma bulguları ile desteklenmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden kesitsel tarama modeli benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Muğla ilinin Köyceğiz, Ortaca, Dalaman ve Fethiye ilçelerinde öğrenim gören toplam 771 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak için Ömür Kaya KALKAN'ın 2014'de geliştirdiği“Mesleki Eğitime Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği”kullanılmıştır. Kişisel bilgiler formu ile öğrencilerin, cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, alan türü, mesleki eğitime katılma isteği ve ailelerinin demografik yapısı bilgilerine ulaşılmıştır. Mesleki Eğitime Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği, tek boyutlu 5'li likert tipinde, 35 maddelik bir ölçektir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler ile parametrik ve nonparametrik analiz yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda mesleki eğitim alan öğrencilerin mesleki eğitime yönelik tutumlarının bazı değişkenlere göre anlamlı farklılık göstermekle birlikte, genel olarak mesleki eğitime yönelik tutumun olumlu düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmanın nitel boyutunda ise temel nitel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yoluyla veri doygunluğuna ulaşıncaya dek görüşmeler yapılmış, toplam 16 MTAL ve MESEM öğrencisinden mesleki eğitime yönelik görüşleri alınmıştır. Açık ve in-vivo kodlama yoluyla öğrenci görüşleri kodlanmış, temalar oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma bulguları sonucunda mesleki eğitimin geliştirilmesine ve diğer araştırmalara yönelik çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur.

The purpose of this study is to examine the attitudes of vocational and technical Anatolian high school and vocational education center (MESEM) students toward vocational education. In this study, it is important because it also addresses the attitudes toward vocational education of students continuing their education in vocational education centers, in addition to students from vocational and technical Anatolian high schools. A mixed-method approach was used, combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The findings obtained using quantitative research designs were supported by qualitative research findings. In the quantitative dimension of the research, the cross-sectional survey model from quantitative research methods was adopted. The study group of the research consists of a total of 771 students studying in the districts of Köyceğiz, Ortaca, Dalaman, and Fethiye in Muğla province. The data collection tool used was the“Attitude Scale Toward Vocational Education”developed by Ömür Kaya KALKAN in 2014. With the personal information form, data on students' gender, grade level, field type, willingness to participate in vocational education, and the demographic structure of their families were obtained. The Attitude Scale Toward Vocational Education is a single-dimensional, 5-point Likert-type scale consisting of 35 items. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics and both parametric and non-parametric analysis methods were utilized. In the quantitative dimension of the research, it was observed that the attitudes of students receiving vocational education toward vocational training showed significant differences according to some demographic variables, but overall, the attitudes toward vocational training were at a positive level. In the qualitative dimension of the research, the basic qualitative research method was adopted, and interviews were conducted thru semi-structured interviews until data saturation was reached, gathering the views on vocational education from a total of 16 MTAL and MESEM students. Thru open and in-vivo coding, student opinions were coded, and themes were created. As a result of the research findings, various recommendations have been presented for the improvement of vocational education and for other studies.
