Özet
Bu çalışma Parkinson hastalarıyla çalışan dil ve konuşma terapistlerinin terapi sürecine dair görüş ve deneyimlerini incelemeyi amaçlayan nitel bir çalışmadır. Bu amaçla, Parkinson hastaları ile yoğun çalışan, en az 2 yıllık deneyime sahip dil ve konuşma terapistleri ile Zoom platformu üzerinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Ölçüt örneklem yöntemi kullanılarak dahil etme kriterlerini karşılayan 12 katılımcı araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Yapılan görüşmeler sonrasında kod ve tema oluşturmak için transkript edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi için tematik analiz yönteminin kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi aşamasında MAXQDA programı kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda 10 tema belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma sonucunda Parkinson hastaları ile çalışan dil ve konuşma terapistlerinin terapi sürecine dair deneyim ve görüşleri derinlemesine analiz edilmiş olup, dejeneratif bir hastalık olan Parkinson hastalığında terapi sürecini birçok faktörün etkilediği görülmüştür. Hastaların terapi sürecindeki katılım ve motivasyonlarını birçok faktörün etkilediği de aktarılmıştır. Bulgular iletişim partnerlerinin terapi sürecine katılımının önemini göstermiştir. Terapi sürecine dair doğru bilgilendirme yapmanın ve hastayla uyumlu beklentiler oluşturmanın öneminden bahsedilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak terapi sürecinde diğer sağlık disiplinlerindeki uzmanlar ile iş birliği içinde çalışmanın, terapi sürecini olumlu etkileyen faktörlerden biri olduğu ifade edilmiştir.

This qualitative study aimed to examine the views and experiences of speech and language therapists working with patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease regarding the therapy process. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted via Zoom with speech and language therapists who had extensive experience working with patients with Parkinson's disease and at least two years of professional experience. Using the criterion sampling technique, twelve participants who met the inclusion criteria were included in the study. The interviews were transcribed verbatim and coded to identify themes. Thematic analysis was employed to analyze the data. During the analysis, MAXQDA software was used. As a result of the analysis, ten themes were identified. The findings provided an in-depth examination of the experiences and perspectives of speech and language therapists working with individuals with Parkinson's disease regarding the therapy process. The results indicated that multiple factors influenced the therapy process in Parkinson's disease. Therapists also reported that various factors affected patients' participation and motivation during the therapy process. The results demonstrated the importance of communication partners' involvement in the therapy process. The study also emphasized the importance of providing accurate information about the therapy process and establishing patient-aligned expectations. In addition, collaboration with professionals from other healthcare disciplines during the therapy process was identified as one of the factors that positively influenced the course of therapy.
