Özet

Bu tezin amacı mutlak manada kudretli, bilgili ve iyi bir Tanrı anlayışıyla dünyada var olan kötülüklerin uzlaşmadığı iddiasına dayanan kötülük problemini Yahudilik, Hristiyanlık ve İslamiyet bağlamında ele almak ve ilahi dinlerin söz konusu probleme yönelik yaklaşımlarını mukayeseli bir şekilde felsefi bir tahlile tabi tutmaktır. Bu doğrultuda tahlil yapılırken kötülük problemine dair çeşitli türlerin kutsal kitaplardaki karşılığı ile din mensubu düşünürlerin problemi temellendirme biçimleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada din felsefesinin yöntemlerinin yanı sıra nitel araştırma yöntemleri temel alınarak metin analizi, felsefi çözümleme ve mukayeseli yöntem kullanılmıştır. Mukayese sürecinde kötülük; kaynağı, fillerin yaratılması, özgür irade, bağlamında değerlendirilmeye tabi tutulmuştur. Ayrıca çalışmada klasik, modern ve çağdaş dönemin düşünürlerine yer verilmesinin yanı sıra üç ilahi dinin tanrı tasavvurlarının kötülük problemi üzerindeki etkisi ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada ilahi dinlerin kutsal kitapları başta olmak üzere probleme dair çok sayıda temel ve tali kaynaktan istifade edilmiştir. Çalışma, kötülük problemi hususunda literatürde yer alan çalışmalara nazaran derleyici ve geniş çaplı bir perspektif sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma sonucunda ilahi dinlerin kötülük problemine kesin bir çözüm sunduğu söylenemese de İslam düşüncesinde kötülüğün temellendirilmesi konusunda diğer dinlere oranla daha tutarlı ve sistematik teodiselere rastlandığı, bu yaklaşım tarzlarının yeni teodiselere zemin hazırladığı ortaya konulmuştur.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the problem of evil, which is based on the claim that the existence of evil in the world is incompatible with the conception of an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent God, within the context of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and to subject the approaches of the divine religions to this problem to a comparative philosophical analysis. In this context, the study examines the reflections of different types of the problem of evil in the sacred texts, as well as the ways in which religious thinkers have grounded and justified the problem. In the study, alongside the methods of the philosophy of religion, qualitative research methods were adopted, and text analysis, philosophical analysis, and the comparative method were employed. In the comparative process, evil was evaluated in terms of its source, the creation of acts, and free will. In addition, the views of classical, modern, and contemporary thinkers were addressed, and the effects of the conceptions of God in the three divine religions on the problem of evil were examined. The research draws upon a wide range of primary and secondary sources related to the problem, particularly the sacred texts of the divine religions. The study aims to present a comprehensive and wide-ranging perspective compared to existing studies in the literature on the problem of evil. As a result, although it cannot be claimed that the divine religions offer a definitive solution to the problem of evil, it is argued that within Islamic thought, more coherent and systematic theodicies are encountered in grounding the problem of evil compared to the other religions, and that these approaches provide a basis for the development of new theodicies.
