Özet

ÖZET Amaç: Ortaöğretimde eğitim gören öğrenciler arasında sosyal fobi belirti sildiğinin ve sosyal fobi belirtileri ile benlik saygısı, kekemelik, tik, göç, kardeş sayısı, gelir düzeyi, anne- baba eğitimi, anne-baba mesleği, sigara- alkol kullanımı, basit fobi ve uykusuzluk arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılması amaçlandı. Yöntem: Çalışma üç ayrı orta öğretim kurumunda toplam 484 (320 kız, 164 erkek) öğrenci ile yapıldı. Çalışmaya katılan kişilere bir bilgi formu, Liebowitz Sosyal Anksiyete Ölçeği (LSAS), Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı Formu (CBSF) uygulandı. Bulgular: LSAS toplam puanı ortalaması 62,98±12,21 ve CBSF toplam puanı ortala ması 58,79+17,97 olarak bulundu, öğrencilerin %7' sinde ciddi sosyal fobi saptandı. Keke meliği olan ve olmayan öğrenciler arasında“sosyal fobik korku toplam puanı”(t=-2,31; p=0,026) ve“LSAS toplam puanT açısından anlamlı farklılık saptandı (t=-2,l; p=0,042). Tik olan ve olmayan öğrenciler arasında ”benlik saygısı toplam puanı“ açısından (t=4,53; p=0,Q001), yakınları tarafindan dövülen ve dövülmeyen öğrenciler arasında ”sosyal fobik kaçınma toplam puanı“ (t=-2,l; p=0,03) ve ”benlik saygısı toplam puanı“ açısından anlamlı farklılık (t=9,65; p=0,0001) bulundu. Sigara ve alkol kullanan ve kullanmayan öğrencilerin arasında ”benlik saygısı toplam puanı“ açısından anlamlı farklılık saptandı, sonuçlar sırasıyla t=3,55; p=0,001 ve t=4,03; p=0,008 şeklinde bulundu. Öğrencilerin baba eğitim düzeyi ile ”sosyal fobik kaçınma toplam puanı“ (F=2,41; p=0,04), ”LSAS toplam puanı“ (F=2,77; p=0,02) arasında, gelir düzeyi ile ”LSAS toplam puanı“ (F=2,53; p=0,04) ve ”benlik saygısı toplam puanı“ (F=2,58; p=0,03) arasında, anne eğitim düzeyi ile ”benlik saygısı toplam pua nı“ arasında anlamlı farklılık bulundu (F=3,33; p=0,01). Okul tipleri arasında ”sosyal fobik kaçınma toplam puanı“ (F= 5,07; p= 0,007), ”LSAS toplam puanı“ (F= 3,93; p=0,02) ve ”benlik saygısı toplam puanı" (F= 8,71; p= 0,0001) açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark lılık bulundu. Tartışma: Bu çalışmada sosyal fobi ile kekemelik, yakınları tarafindan dövülme, baba eğitimi, okul tipi ve gelir düzeyi arasında ilişki saptandı. Tik bozukluğu, yakınları tarafindan dövülme, sigara ve alkol kullanımı, gelir düzeyi, okul tipi ve anne eğitimi, öğrencilerin benlik saygısı düzeyini etkilemektedir. Ciddi sosyal fobi görülme oranı %7 bulundu.

SUMMARY Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the prevalence of social phobia, the relation between social phobia and self-esteem, and the effect of stuttering, tic disorder, migration, the number of siblings, the level of income, the educational and occupational status of parents, nicotine and alcohol misuse, simple phobia and insomnia on these parameters among high school students. Method: A sample of 484 students (320 female, 164 male) from three different high schools was included in the study. Anxiety Disorder information form, Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS) and Coopersmith Sef-esteem Inventory were applied all participants. Results: Mean CBSF score was 58.79±17.97 and mean LSAS score was 62.98±12.21. Prevalence of social phobia 7%. There were significant differences between the students have stuttering and those of have not in 'social phobic total fear score' (t=-2.31, p=0.026) and in 'total LSAS score' (t=-2.1, p«0.042). There were significant differences between the students have tic disorder and those of have not in 'total self-esteem score' (t=4.53, p=0.0001), between the students have been beaten in the family and those of have not been in 'social phobic total avoidance score' (t=-2.1, p^O.OS) and in 'total self-esteem score' (t=9.65, p=0.0001). Significant differences have been found between smokers and non-smokers (t=3.55, p=0.001), between drinkers and non-drinkers (t=4.03, p=0.008) in 'total self-esteem score'. There were significant differences among students have fathers from different level of education in 'social phobic total avoidance score' (F=2.41, p=0.04) and 'total LSAS score' (F=2.77, p=0.02); students from different level of income in 'total LSAS score' (F=2.53, p=0.04) and 'total self-esteem score' (F=2.58, p=0.03); students have mothers from different level of education in 'total self-esteem score' (F=3.33, p=0.01). There were significant differences among school types in 'social phobic total avoidance score' (F=5,07; p=0,007), 'total LSAS score' (F=3,93; p«0,02) and 'total self-esteem score' (F=8,71; p=0,0001). Discussion: We conclude that stuttering, beating in the family, the level of income, the educational status of mother are important correlates of social phobia. Additionally tic disorder, beating in the family, nicotine and alcohol misuse, the level of income, the educational status of mother effect the level of self-esteem.
