Özet
ÖZET“Çağdaş Sanat Ortamında Resmin Heykelleşmesi, Heykelin Resimselleşmesi Eğilimleri”başlıklı bu çalışma, geleneksel resim-heykel tanımlarının ve sınırlarının 20.yüzyıl süresince değişime uğramış olduğunu ve iki sanatın bu süreç içinde yöntem alışverişlerine girerek yakınlaştığım öne sürer. Tezin amacı, resim ve heykelin birbiriyle kesişmeye başlayan niteliklerim ortaya koyarak, bu kesişmelerin güncel sanatın disiplinlerarası yapışma katkısını göstermektir. Buna göre, ilk bölüm resim ve heykel sanatlarının geleneksel yapısına odaklanır. Diğer iki ana bölüm 'resimselleşen heykel' ve 'heykelleşen resim' kavramlarım 20.yüzyılın akımlar dönemi çerçevesinde ayrı ayrı inceler. Son olarak da aktüel sanat ortamının disiplinlerarası anlayışı irdelenir. Tezin gelişiminde, toplumsal ve ekonomik dengeleri sarsan 20.yüzyılın başı, resim ve heykel sanatlarının bütünleşme sürecinin de başı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Yeni yüzyılın sanatsal arayışları, 'resim ve heykel yakınlaşmaları' göz önünde tutularak incelenmiştir. Bu anlamda, 'Heykelleşen Resim' ve 'Resimselleşen Heykel' olarak iki ayrı başlık oluşmuştur. Resim ve heykelin ilk yenilik arayışları, malzeme denemeleri, soyut dilin olanakları ve yeni teknoloji çağının belirleyiciliği ise bölümleri biçimlendirmiştir. 'Heykelleşen Resim' başlıklı bölüm resmin heykele yaklaşma durumlarını öne sürer, resmin malzemeyle, mekânla ve üç boyutla ilişkisini inceler. 'Resimselleşen Heykel' başlıklı bölüm de bir heykelin hangi niteliklerle resimselleşebileceğini tartışır; 20.yüzyıl heykeline, çizgisellik, renk kullanımı ve 'iki boyuta yakınlık' açısından bakar. Son bölümde, çağdaş sanat yapıtının disiplinlerarası kimliği önem kazanır. Tüm eski malzeme ve yöntemlerden bağımsız olarak gelişen; yaşamın ve mekânın içinde bir ayrıntı olarak değil, yaşamla ve mekânla birlikte var olan yeni sanatın yeni yöntemleri incelenir. Sanatı düşünselliğe açan yeni eğilimlere, aktüel sanat ortamının sadece resim ve heykeli değil, tüm disiplinleri bir araya getiren yapısını göstermek amacıyla değinilir.

SUMMARY The thesis, titled as“The Tendencies of Painting Becoming Sculptural and Sculpture Becoming Pictorial in Contemporary Art,”puts forward that the traditional definitions and limits of painting and sculpture underwent changes during the 20th century, and that they have moved closer to each other by trading methods between them. The purpose of this thesis is to point out the area where painting and sculpture verge upon another, and to show the contribution of their similar traits to the interdisciplinary structure of the contemporary art. According to this, the first section of the thesis focuses on the traditional structure of painting and sculpture. The following two sections analyze separately the concepts of 'painting becoming sculptural' and 'sculpture becoming pictorial' in the 20th century. Finally, the interdisciplinary perception of the contemporary art environment is analyzed. In the progress of the thesis, the beginning of the 20 century, which had a great impact on the social and economical structure, is also supposed to be the beginning of the convergence of sculpture and painting. The new century's quest for new art trends, is analyzed with the idea of 'the convergence of painting and sculpture.' Thus, two different titles as 'Painting Becoming Sculptural' and 'Sculpture Becoming Pictorial' took form. The sections review the initial search for reform in painting and sculpture, the new material experiments, the potential of abstract language, and the effects of technology. The section titled as 'Painting Becoming Sculptural,' puts forward the conditions of painting getting closer to sculpture. It draws attention to the relationship between painting, material, environment and three dimensions. The section on 'Sculpture Becoming Pictorial,' discusses the trades with which sculpture can become pictorial. It regards the 20th century sculpture with its linearity, use of color and closeness to two dimensions. In the last section, the interdisciplinary identity of contemporary art becomes more significant. The new methods of the new art -which develops independently of the old VImaterials and methods, and which no more exists as a detail in life and environment, but as a piece within them- are examined. The new tendencies that expand the art to conceptualism are considered, in order to show that the contemporary art brings together all disciplines, rather than just painting and sculpture. VE
