Nejat Yüksek Lisans, ölçme ve Değerlendirme Anabilim Dalı Tez Danışmanı: Prof. Dr. Nizamettin Koç Mart 2002, 125 Sayfa Bu çalışmada, Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı Liselere öğrenci seçilirken kullanılan yöntemin psikometrik açıdan amaca ne derece uygun olduğunu ve bu okullarda görev yapan öğretmen ve yöneticilerin Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı Liselere öğrenci seçimiyle ilgili halihazırda kullanılan yöntem, uygulanabilecek diğer yöntemler ve Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı lise uygulamaları hakkındaki görüşlerini saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı Liselere öğrenci seçmek amacıyla kullanılan ilköğretim diploma not ortalaması, lise başarısını ne derece yordayabildiğine ve bu okullarda görev yapan öğretmen ve yöneticilerin Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı lise uygulamalarına ilişkin görüşlerine bakılmıştır. Araştırmanın öğrenci evrenini, Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi sınırları içerisindeki 45 Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı Liseden, 1999-2000 öğretim yılında mezun olan 3836 öğrenci, öğretmen evrenini ise bu okullarda görev yapan 3432 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Öğrenci evrenini temsil etmek üzere 10 Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı lise ve bu okullardan mezun olmuş 615 öğrenci, öğretmen evrenini temsil etmek üzere ise 10 Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı lise ve bu liselerde görev yapan 460 öğretmen çalışma grubuna dahil edilmiştir. Çalışma grubuna giren öğrencilerin, Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı liselere seçimde kullanılan İlköğretim diploma notu, Lise 1 dönem sonu not ortalaması, Lise 2 dönem sonu not ortalaması, Lise 3 dönem sonu not ortalaması ve Lise diploma notlan elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programında çözümlenmiştir. Orta öğretim başarısını temsil eden lise diploma notuna etki eden etmenleri tesbit edebilmek amacıyla çoklu hiyerarşik regresyon analizi yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda, ilköğretim diploma notunun lise diploma notuna katkısı anlamlı çıkmamıştır. IVÇalışma grubuna giren öğretmenlere, araştırıcı tarafından geliştirilen ve Yabana Dil Ağırlıklı lise uygulamalarına ilişkin görüş toplamayı amaçlayan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anket maddelerine verilen yanıtların frekansları çıkarılmış ve anketi cevaplayan öğretmenlerin yanıtları cinsiyet, kıdem, YDAL sınıflarının yanısıra normal sınıflara girip girmeme ve idari görev durumları açılarından aralarında fark olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular; Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı liselerde görev yapan öğretmen ve yöneticilerin; bu okullara öğrenci seçiminde kullanılan, ilköğretim diploma notuna göre öğrenci seçiminin doğru olmadığını; bu okullara öğrenci seçerken, halihazırda kullanılan Liselere Giriş Sınavı, sadece bu okullara öğrenci seçmek için yapılacak sınav, bir genel yetenek sınavı gibi yöntemlerin kullanılabileceğini, bu okulların gerekli olduğunu, bu okulların ayrı bir program değil bir çeşit seviye grubu olduğunu, başarılarını altında yatan nedenin, seçilmiş bir grup olmanın sağladığı motivasyon olduğunu, bu okulların yönetim yapılanmalarını ve binalarının ayrı olması gerektiğini düşündükleri belirlenmiştir.

SUMMARY TO INVESTIGATE THE APPLICATIONS OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE WEIGHTED HIGHSCHOOLS FROM THE PYSCHOMETRICAL POINT OF ViEW in this study, it is aimed to determine how comformabie the method used, in case of psychometrical view, is while selecting students for the foreign language weighted highschools and to find out the thougts of the teachers and managers about the way of selecting students that is used at present, and the ones that may be used. For that reason, the views of the teachers and managers and how the avarage grade of the primary education degree may effect the highschool success, have been asked. In this study, 3836 students who were graduated in the 1999-2000 educational year from 45 the foreign language weighted highschools within the border of the Ankara Bigcity Municipality formed the universe of the teachers. To represent the universe of the students and 3432 teachers who were an duty in theese schools formed the universe of the teachers. To represent the universe of the students, 615 students who were graduated from 10 the foreign language weighted highschools, were included to the sample. The primary school degree marks, the end of term avarage marks of the students in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd classes at the highschool and the highschool degree marks were taken. These datums were analyzed in the SPSS programme. Multiple Hierarchical Regration Analyze was used to the determine the factors which affect the highschool degree markwhich represent the secondary school success. It was found out that the contribution of the primary school degree mark to the highschool degree mark isn't significant. VÎA questinnaire which aimed to find out the views about the applications of the the foreign language weighted highschools, was applied by the researcher, to the teachers and which took place in the sample. By the end of this research it was seen that the teachers and managers working in these schools think that, selecting students for the foreign language weighted highschools, according to their primary school degree marks, isn't the right way of selection, and that systems like the Highschool Entrance Exam being used at present, or an exam only for selecting students for the foreign language weighted highschools or a general aptitude exam could be used. And it was also determined that these teachers think that the foreign language weighted highschools are necessary and these schools aren't a different programme but a sort of level group, and that the reason of their success is because of the motivation of being a selected group. They also think that the buildings and management constructions should be seperated. VH
