Özet
BERTRAND RUSSELL'DA DİN-AHLAK İLİŞKİSİ ÖZET 1872-1970 yıllan arasında yaşayan Bertrand Russell'a göre bilim, bilginin tek kaynağıdır. Bilim Tanrıya, öbür dünyaya inanmak için herhangi bir sebep sağlamaz. Din korku üzerine kurulduğundan, dünyadaki bütün güzel gelişmelere engel olduğundan dolayı kötüdür. Din ahlaklılığa ve iyiliğe de düşmandır. Russell insanın kendisine yaşam ülküsü kurmakta özgür olduğunu belirtir.“Güzel hayat; sevgiden ilham alan ve bilginin rehberlik ettiği bir hayattır.”Bu ülküyü temel alan insan için her türlü kuramsal ahlakın fazla olduğunu savunan Russell, boş inançlara, tabulara, törelere dayanan geleneksel ahlakın, modern dünyanın insanına mutluluk veremeyeceğini söyler. İnsanların problemlerini çözen, onları mutlu eden, cinsel ahlak da dahil olmak üzere, yeni bir ahlak anlayışına ihtiyaç olduğunu belirten Russell, bu ahlakın korkuya karşı savaş vermekle elde edileceğini ve bunun eğitimle genç zihinlere öğretileceğini savunur.

THE RELIGION-MORALE RELATIONSHIP IN BERTRAND RUSSELL ABSTRACT According to Bertrand Russell (1872^1970), science is the sole source of knowledge. Science does not provide any reason to believe in God or in the Next World. Religion is bad on the grounds that it is built on fear and that it prevents all good developments in the world. Religion is also adversary to morality and goodness. Russell points out that Man has the freedom of developing an ideal of life for himself:“The good life is the one inspired by love and guided by knowledge.”Defending that all theoretical morals will be redundant for people who have adapted such an ideal, Russell asserts that the traditional morality which is based on superstitions, taboos and customs will not bring happiness to the people of the modern world. Stating that we need a new concept of morality which can solve the people's problems and make them happy, including sexual morals, Russell asserts that such new morality can be developed by fighting against the fears and that it can be taught to young people by education.
