V ÖZET ÇAĞLAR BOYU ELİN TEŞHİS VE TEDAVİDE KULLANIMI Tarihin akışıyla birlikte hastalıkların teşhis ve tedavilerinde birçok uygulamaya geçildiyse de, insan eli bir teşhis ve tedavi aracı olarak her zaman değişik kültür ve dönemlerde önemini korumuştur, insan eli hem duyusal olarak hem de hareket olarak en gelişmiş organlarımızdan biridir. Bu gelişmiş organı teşhis ve tedavi amacıyla kullanmak, hızlı, ekonomik ve güvenilir tedavi yöntemlerini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Güven esasına dayanan hasta-hekim diyalogunda elin psikolojik etkisi de göz ardı edilmemelidir. Elin kullanımı tarih boyunca, teşhiste: Nabız sayımı, Refleksoloji,...ve tedavide: Masaj, Manipulasyon, Shiatsu, Reiki, gibi uygulamalarda ön plana çıktıysa da bugün için bu uygulamalar çoğunlukla alternatif tıp kapsamında değerlendirilmekte ve modern tıp uygulayıcıları tarafından hor görülmektedir. Buna rağmen hastalardan önemli bir kesimin bu uygulamalara yöneldikleri gözlenmektedir. Bu da modern tıpta bir eksikliğin olduğu sorusunu gündeme getirmektedir ki bize göre bu eksiklik bir sosyal iletişim aracı olan dokunmadır. Acaba mekanikleşen ilişkiler sonucunda hasta aradığını bulamamakta ve eski iyinin muhafaza edildiği alanlara mı yönelmektedir?

VI SUMMARY THE USAGE OF HANDS IN DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT THROUGHOUT THE AGES Although various methods have been used in the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases for ages, the human hand has preserved its importance as a means of diagnosis and treatment for many cultures throughout the periods of history. It is one of our most developed organs in terms of emotion and flexible movement. The usage of such a developed organ in the diagnosis and treatment has resulted in the fast, economical and reliable treatment methods. In the patient-doctor relationship which is based on confidence, the physiological effect of the hands should not be neglected. l /en though throughout the?.-g-^ thrs hgnr! wsr? ur^d for the Pulse Measurement, Reflexology,... and in the Manipulation, Shiatsu, Reiki applications as well as Massaging, today such applications are considered within the alternative therapies and therefore, looked down on by the practitioners of the orthodox medicine. However, it is observed that many patients tend to seek medical treatment through such methods. This brings about the question of whether the orthodox medicine has something lacking in the treatment process, which is believed to be the human 'touch', a means of social communication. Yet another question that needs an answer is whether the patient cannot get what she actually needs and tends to seek it in the alternative methods still preserving the good. f^lfefl.MTfl.rtH
