Özet

- 52 - ÖZET Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi, Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkla rı Anabilim Dalı, Genetik ve Teratoloji Bilim Dalı'nda muaye ne edilen 44 Down Sendromu olgusunun göz bulguları şu şekilde dağılım göstermiştir: 39 olguda (% 88.6) mongoloid göz aksı, 21 olguda (% 47.7) epikantus, 4 olguda (% 9.0) blefarit saptanmıştır. Biy omikroskopik muayenede çoğunluğu açık renkli irise sahip gözlerde olmak üzere 17 olguda (% 38.6) Brushfield le keleri, 18 olguda (% 40.9) periferik iris hipoplazisi saptan mıştır. Ayrıca 7 olguda katarakt bulunmuştur (% 15.5). Kata- raktlı olguların ikisinde total lens opasitesi, beşinde ise lokal lens opasiteleri mevcuttu. Gözdibi muayenesi yaptığımız Down sendromu olguların dan 27'sinde özgün ve yeni olduğu bildirilen optik diski çap- razlayan toplam damar adedinde artma saptanmıştır (% 72.9). Gözdibinde rastlanan diğer retina bulguları olağan varyasyon lar olarak kabul edilmiştir. Göziçi basıncı ölçebildiğimiz 40 olgunun sadece bir tanesinde göziçi basıncı 29 mmHg olarak yüksek bulunmuş tur (% 2.5). Diğer olguların ortalama göziçi basıncı 14.5 mmHg olarak normal sınırlar içinde saptanmıştır.- 53 - Toplam 14 olguda şaşılık bulunmuştur (% 31.8). Bun ların hepsi de iç şaşılık tipindeydi. 39 olguda siklopleji ile yapılan kırılma kusuru muayenesinde 14 olguda (% 35.8) miyopi, 8 olguda (% 20.5) hipermetropi bulunurken 17 olgunun da (% 43.5) emetrop olduğu bulunmuştur. Kırılma kusuru göste ren 22 olgunun 9'unda astigmatizma komponenti de bulunmaktay dı (% 23.0). Ayrıca 2 olguda nistagmus saptanmıştır (% 4.5).

- 54 - SU M M A R Y The distribution of the eye findings of the 44 cases with the Down Syndrome who were examined at the Genetics and Teratology Section of the Pediatrics Department, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine is as follow: Slanting palpebral fissures in 39 cases (88.6%); epicanthus in 21 cases (47.7%); blepharitis in 4 cases (9.0%). Under slit-lamp examination, among those mostly with light-color irises, Brushfield spots in 17 cases (38.6%), and hypoplasias of peripheric iris were found in 18 cases (% 40.9). In addition to this, cataract was spotted in 7 cases (15.5%). Of the two cases with cataract, total lens opacity and of the five cases with cataract, local lens opacity were present. Of those cases with the Down Syndrome who underwent fundus oculi examination, 27 were found to have an increase in the total number of vessels crossing the optic disc which were reported to be original and new (72.9%). Other retinal findings found at the fundus oculi were accepted to be normal variations.- 55 - Of those 40 cases whose intraocular pressure we were able to measure, only one was found to be high with an intraocular pressure of 29 mmHg (2.5%). The other cases were found to have an intraocular pressure of 14.5 mmHg which is considered to be within normal limits. In a total of 14 cases, strabismus was detected (3.8%). All of these were of the esotropia type. As a result of the refractive error examination done with cycloplegia on 39 cases, 14 cases (35.8%) were found to have myopia, 8 cases were found to have hypermetropia and 17 cases (43.5%) were found to be emetropia. Of those 22 cases who showed refractive error, an astigmatism component was also present (23.0%). Moreover, nystagmus was detected in 2 cases (4.5%).
