Özet
S ü H M A R Y. As a rezult of unhealthy hygienic conditions and considering some basic personel cleaning rules unimportant, infection diseases in our country are stili effective and öne of the main reasons of the children deaths. For the for- mation of a healthier and civilized society in the future, it is a remarkable fact and need that children must gain some simple but healthy cleaning habits in these ages. For this reason, our study is planned to find out the personal cleaning information of primary school student and how they carry out these infontıations. in two primary schools in the region of Ataköy and Sultan Çiftliği in istanbul (Ataköy Muhittin Üstündağ ilköğ¬ retim okulu and Sultan Çiftliği Cebeci ilkokulu), 300 fifth grade students, being 150 from each school, have been taken in the scope and been applied guestionaires. The results have been appraised statically by means of the logical test and chi-sguare in the light of litera¬ türe knowledge. in our study that hygenic followings of the students like the habit of bathing, vashing the head and hands, brus- hing the teeth, renevring the tooth brush, usage of personal belonging (tooth brush, comb, towel) and clean belonging (handkerchief, saks, underwears), cleaning af ter toilet are effected by the social-economical and cultural levels of the- 82 - farailies, systematic water flow in the environntent and the attitude of the school on this matter. it has been seen that the phenomena were higher in the first school. it' has been observed that some habits like washing the fice, triınming the nails, combing the hair, infesting with / lice, usung lice shampoos, methods of brushing the teeth and usage of tooth paste aren't effected by the social-economical cultural levels of the families and were the same in both of the schools. The students göt their health information from their families in the first school and from their schools in the second öne, showing that cleanness phenomenon is effected by social-economical cultural levels. in addition to this the ages, physical and mental po- sitions of some of the students involved in our study banned them from understanding the guestion clearly and caused them to give contradictory answers. As a result of this, there are some deficit points left in our tables.
