One of the most important advanced information technologies which are the constantpart of companies that struggle to stand up in the surroundings of rivalry and speedin today?s working life is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.ERP systems that have come up recently are comprehensive software packages thatdo the whole functions of companies from start to finish with a whole informationand data system.With this study, it is aimed presenting an analysis and evolution way to select ERPsoftware packages to managers and decision maker who want to install ERP systemin their companies in Turkey. With this aim, it is mentioned in this study thepreparation level of ERP installation project for a firm which produces PolyesterTexture Yarn.In this study, at first the existing system in the company is analyzed with systemanalyzing techniques. As a result of the analyzing, system problems are carried out.Later a comprehensive literature search about ERP systems which is going to beinstalled in the company.After designating the existing system of the firm and obtaining necessary informationabout ERP systems, it is come to a stage to select best ERP software which will besuitable for the company. In this level, at first, to choose software there are 526criteria under 10 main groups that are numbered and have the quality to designate thefeatures of the software. For the designated criteria, answer of questions are receivedfrom 5 different ERP software firms. As a result, required data for selection processis obtainedTOPSIS and AHP methods are employed to evaluation data in order to find out bestsoftware among five. As a result best ERP software for the company is decided withusing two techniques.
