139 Pektaş, Yahya:“The analysis of the Job Evaluation Studies According to The Programmes of Turkish Petroleum Corporation”, Master Thesis, (Advisor: Prof. Dr. Fatma VARIŞ), vii+142p. Summary: The Turkish Petroleum Corporation has hired the consultant company to make the Job Evaluation and Description studies to constitute the fundementals of the personnel orientation-planning and the wage - salary systems. This study is a follow up investigation to develop an efficiont and effective program to meet the needs of the Turkis Petroleum Corporation. The essence of this study is how the job evaluation programme should be prepared, developped and applied in accordance with the principles of the basis of succesfull job evaluation programmes (educational policy, programme contents, timing, application and organisation) and systems approach (every unit would take the responsibility and realize the expected development of the individuals according to their planned educational progranme). During this study sampling group was realized. The job evaluation and information on curriculum development of the sampling group was investegated. The degree of importance of the necessary subject matters was graded for establishing the inclination of the subjects for the curriculum planning and development. Furthermore subjects were asked to declare their proposals about curriculum planning and development. During the program planning it is necassary that many subjects have to be taken into consideration. But in this study the pecularities and necessities of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation were taken into account. Moreover the details and questions which were quiet obvious, were given to the subjects. The reason for this was to give information to the subjects, who were not familiar with curriculum development. In the sample group, eyery indivudual suggested that the job evaluation should be prepared and developped according to the accepted scientific methods. The subjects have graded the twenty two items of the programme planning and development: At the end of this study it was found that nine of the subject matters are very important, twelwe of the subject matters are important and one subject matter is irrelevant.
