Up to Geography, Distribution of Secondary Education Institutions in Turkey Turkey is situated at the strategic point of the three continents of the world and Stands as a crossroads between Asia and Europe. Turkey is divided into seven geographical, regions each of which posseses distinct features. The last census was carried out in 1990 and according to this, the population of the country was 57 million. Geography is a science that plays an important role in the lives of nations. It investigates distributions, intrests and reasons of events and answers. What? Where? questions in the world. The aims of the study is to give distribution of secondary education instutions in Turkey then I have studied to find an answer What is the role of Vocational and Technical education institutions in this distribution? How was geography effected the foundation of Vocational Technical Lycees, Vocational Health Lycees, Vocational -10g-Agricultural Lycees, Vocational Tourism Lycees etc.? What is the geographical peculiarities of district? In order to explain these questions the following data were collected and maps were prepared: - Statistics of Ministry of National Education (1965-1980-1987) - a distribution of Vocational and Technical Education institutions maps in Turkey. (1965-1980-1987) - a distribution of Upper Secondary Education institutions maps in Turkey. (1965-1980-1987) - Summary tables of number of upper secondary education schools and vocational and technical education schools in Turkey. (1965-1980-1987) I have studied in this study to build a bridge between geography and education. Education is a social service directed towards increasing the creative strength of society, providing training -10?-possibilities to individuals commensurate with their abilities, instilling and awareness of social circles within the framework of social justice and equal opportunities and providing young generations with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to assume their place in society. During the period of the Republic, the changes and developments encountered in the socio-economic structure and in science and technology increased and diversified the educational needs and expectations of our society. To meet these requirements, changes have been effected in our educational programme at different levels and in different fields, while new educational institutions have been established and new programmes developed in response to developments and needs. In our educational system, the rational usage of manpower and national resources and promotion of abundance with a view to administrating, planning designing programme and defecting the educational activities depend on collecting reliable statistical data and its evaluation and to answer what?
