ABSTRACT In this thesis, I have attempted to expound the significance of vocabulary teaching in foreign language education. Firstly, I delineated the basic lingo about vocabulary. Throughout the thesis, I presented various types of vocabulary techniques that can be used in presenting the new words and retention of the new words. I also indicated certain techniques that can be exercised to blossom students' vocabulary. Then, I presented the most common games that can be used while teaching vocabulary. Finally, an experiment showing the significance of vocabulary techniques is presented. During my assessment, I have located that most of the approaches ignored vocabulary teaching and learning. This coerced me to strongly believe that vocabulary teaching and learning techniques and procedures should be put into every teacher training curriculum.
