Özet
-91- 7. ÖZET Bu çalışmada, para konumunda hidrojen, amino, nitro, klor ve brom gurupları taşıyan 5 adet yeni 5-meti 1 -2- ( p-sübs- ti tüebenzi 1 ) benzoksazo 1 türevi sentez 1 enmiştir. Bu türevler, 4-meti 1 -2-aminof eno 1 ile p-sUbsti tüef eni lasetik asitlerin po- lifosforik asit katalizörlüğünde ıstılması ile elde edilmiş tir. Sentezlenen bileşiklerin saflıkları t.T.K. ile kont rol edilip, erime noktaları saptanmış ve yapıları UV, İR, 1 H- NMR ve Elementel Analiz yöntemleri ile açıklanmıştır. Elde edilen bileşiklerin. Staphylococcus aureus, Ba- cilllus subtil is, Streptococcus faecal is gibi bazı Gr.am-pozi tif Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomanas aeruginosa gibi bazı Gram-negatif bakterilere karşı antibakte- yel ve Candida albicans'a karşı antifungal etkileri, Minimum Inhibitor Konsantrasyon (MÎK) değerleri şeklinde saptanmış ve bileşikler dikkate değer şekilde etkili bulunmuşlardır.

-92- 8. İNGİLİZCE ÖZET (SUMMARY) TEE SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURE ELUCIDATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITIES OP SOME 5-METHYL -2-(p-SUBSTITUTEDBENZYL)BENZ0XAZ0LE DERIVATIVES. In this research, five original 5-methyl-2-(p~substitu- tedbenzyl)benzoxazole derivatives were synthesized by heating 4- methyl-2-aminophenol with p-substitutedphenylacetiü acid in the presence of polyphosphoric acid. The purity of the compounds were controlled by TLC and melting points were determined. Their structures were elu cidated using UV, IR, 1H-NMR and Elementel Analysis methods. The antibacterial activity of these compounds against some gram-pozitive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacil lus subtilis, Streptococcus -faecalis and some gram-negative bac teria such as Escherichia ooli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomo- nas.aeruginosa and the antifungal activity against Candida al bicans were determined as the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values and the compounds were found significantly active.
