-60- SUJUUHY This study was conducted to determine optimum seeding rate and nitrogen dose for Rocco rice cultivar which is grown widely in our region. For this purpose, six nitrogen doses < Şo= 0 kg-ff/da, ff*= 6 kg-N/da, »ia= 12 kg-JT/da, Hı©= 1& kg-F/da, N2*= 24 kg-N/da, Hso= 30 kg-H/da) and seven seeding rates < Tsoo= 300 seed/m2, T3bo= 350 seed/m35, T*oo= 400 seed/m2, Taso= 450 seed/m2, Tsoo= 500 seed/m2, Tsso= 550 seed/m2, Tsoo= 600 seed/m2) were applied at experiment area of field crops Department of ç. ü. Agriculture Faculty. A field experiment in split plot design with six different nitrogen doses as main plots and seeding rates as subplots was conducted. The results obtained in research are summarized as follows. Nitrogen doses had significant effect on period of panicle initation. Period of panicle initation increased with increasing nitrogen doses. Maximum period of panicle initation (&&,5 days) was obtained from Hso, minimum one (79.9 days) was obtained from Bo. There was no significant effect of seeding rates It was found significantly effect H doses, seeding rates and interaction between B doses and seeding rates on plant height. The plant night was increased by If doses up to Bs».*, but it was decreased by Nso. The plant height decreased with increasing seeding rates. Maximum plant height (106.8 cm) was obtained from interaction of %z
