Özet

Lise Öğrencilerinin Mükemmeliyetçilik Özellikleri ile Rekabetçi Tutumları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesiBu araştırmanın ana amacı, lise öğrencilerinin mükemmeliyetçilik özellikleri ile rekabetçi tutumları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir.Araştırmanın çalışma evrenini, 2007-2008 eğitim-öğretim yılında İstanbul'un Kartal İlçesi'nde okuyan 10. ve 11. sınıf lise öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise Kartal İlçesi'nde bulunan çeşitli liselerde okuyan 10. ve 11. sınıf öğrencilerinden random küme yöntemi ile seçilen 463 öğrenci (260'ı kız, 203'ü erkek) oluşturmuştur.Verilerin toplanmasında Çok Boyutlu Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği, Rekabetçi Tutum Ölçeği ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır.Verilerin analizinde, istatistiksel teknik olarak ilişkisiz grup t testi, varyans analizi (Anova) ve hiyerarjik regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Lise öğrencilerinin cinsiyetlerine göre mükemmeliyetçilik özelliklerinin ve rekabetçi tutumlarının farklılaşma durumu ilişkisiz grup t testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Lise öğrencilerinin algılanan sosyo-ekonomik düzeyine, okuduğu okul türüne, kardeş sayısına göre mükemmeliyetçilik özelliklerinin ve rekabetçi tutumlarının farklılaşma durumu ise varyans analizi (Anova) ile test edilmiştir. Varyans analizi sonucu farklılaşmanın kaynağını belirlemek amacıyla Scheffe testi kullanılmıştır. Mükemmeliyetçilik özelliklerinin rekabetçi tutumu yordayıp yordamadığını belirlemek amacıyla da hiyerarjik regresyon analizi tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen istatistiksel bulguların anlamlılığı .05 düzeyinde sınanmıştır. İstatistiksel analizler bilgisayar ortamında SPSS. 10 programıyla yapılmıştır.Araştırma bulgularına göre; mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutları ile rekabetçi tutum arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunurken; Kendine yönelik mükemmeliyetçilik ile Toplum tarafından dayatılan mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutlarının, rekabetçi tutumu anlamlı bir biçimde yordadığı tespit edilmiştir. Lise öğrencilerinin cinsiyetine göre, mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutlarında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmazken, rekabetçi tutum açısından, kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre daha rekabetçi tutuma sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Algılanan sosyo-ekonomik düzey ve kardeş sayısı değişkenlerine göre ise, mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutlarında ve rekabetçilik tutumunda anlamlı bir farklılık bulunamamıştır. Okul türüne göre mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutlarında ve rekabetçi tutumda anlamlı farklılık olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

An Investigation of the Relationship Between Perfectionism and Competitive Attitudes in High School Students SampleThe aim of the study, is to examine the relationships between perfectionism and competitive attitudes in high school students sample.The area universe of this research is composed of 10th and 11th grade students studying at different high schools of Kartal region in 2007-2008 educational term. The sample consists of 463 (260 female, 203 male) students gathering from this area universe.In acquiring data, Multi dimensional Perfectionism Scale, Competitive Attitudes Scale and Individual Information Inventory to determine the individual qualities are used.In analyzing the data, t test, Variance Analysis (Anova) and hierarchical regression analysis were used as statistical techniques. The differentiation of perfectionism and competitive attitudes of students in relation with their gender was analyzed with t test. Differentiation of perfectionism and competitive attitudes of students in relation with their perceived socio-economical level, the type of high school and number of sibling tested with F test (Anova). In order to determine the cause of differentiation acquired from the Variance Analysis, Scheffe test was used. To determine whether perfectionism predict competitive attitudes or not, hierarchical regression analyse was used and meaningfulness level was taken as .05. Statistical analyses were carried out with SPSS. 10 program in a computerized environment.According to the findings of the research, there is a meaningful relationship between sub-dimensions of perfectionism and competitive attitudes, and both self oriented perfectionism and social prescribed perfectionism together predict competitive attitudes. There is no difference between male and female students with respect to sub-dimensions of perfectionism but there is a meaningful difference with competitive attitudes has been found. No difference has been observed in perfectionism and competitive attitudes scores in terms of perceived socio-economical level and the number of sibling. Both perfectionism and competitive attitudes scores revealed that there are meaningful differences in terms of school type.
