Özet
Eğitim, bir ülkenin ekonomik kalkınmışlığının en önemli göstergelerinden birisidir. Ülke kalkınmasındaki öneminin yanı sıra, bireylere sağladığı özel yararlar ile toplumun tümüne sağladığı dışsal yararlar nedeniyle, birçok ülke eğitim hizmetini desteklemektedir. Özellikle birçok ülkede temel eğitimin yanı sıra çeşitli eğitim kademelerinin parasız sunulması, eğitimin sağladığı toplam sosyal faydaların oldukça fazla olmasındandır. Bununla birlikte, kamunun eğitime ayırdığı kaynağın, mali olanakları çerçevesinde olması bir takım sorunları beraberinde getirmektedir. Sunulan eğitimin kalitesinin, aynı ilin çeşitli bölgelerinde dahi farklılaşması, hanelerin bu eğitimin yanında çocuklarına ayrıca bir kaynak ayırarak, daha iyi bir eğitim aldırma çabalarını gündeme getirmektedir. Bu olgu ise, hanelerin mali olanaklarını ön plana çıkarmaktadır. Başka bir değişle, gelir düzeyi iyi olan ailelerin çocuklarına daha iyi eğitim aldırması, gelecekte iyi bir gelir düzeyine sahip olma şanslarını arttırmaktadır. Diğer yandan, yoksul hane çocuklarının tamamen ailelerinin mali olanaksızlıkları nedeniyle kaliteli eğitim alamaması sonucu gelecekte de yoksul kalma riski artmaktadır. Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de eğitime kaynak ayıran hanelerin analizini konu edinmiştir.

One of the most important indicators of the economic development of a country is education. Besides its vital role in the country?s development, it provides specific benefits to the individuals as well as providing some external benefits to whole society. That is why, most of the countries support educational services. The total benefits provided by education are so abundant that in most of the countries primary education as well as various grades are free of charge. However, as the public fund for education is limited with the budgets there occurs some problems. The quality of educational services differs even in the different districts of the same province so the household looks for some other sources for a better education by sparing from their budget. The economic status of the families gains importance with this phenomenon. In other words, the children who have families with high economic status have the chance to have high economic status in the future as their families provide them with better education. On the other hand, the children of poor families will keep having the risk of being poor in the future since they can not get qualified education. This study is conducted to analyze the household that spare from their budgets for education.
