Özet
Türk sanatına portre ve otoportrenin ilk girişi 19.yy ortalarına dayanır. Portre türünün ilk uygulayıcılarının portre ve otoportrelerinde, özellikle kadın konusunda daha modern bir imaj oluşturma kaygıları vardır. Otoportrelerde ise ressam olarak varlığını kanıtlama isteği sezilir.İlk sanat eğitimi kurumunun açılması ile sanat topluma yayılmaya başlar. Ressamların kendilerini geliştirmeleri daha önce olduğu gibi yine yurt dışı eğitimi ile sağlanır. Akademi eğitimi ile Empresyonizmi birleştiren portreler üretilir.Portre, sonraki yıllarda dönemsel üslupların etkileri ile farklı bir şekil alır. Özellikle Müstakiller ve 'd Grubu' ressamlarının İnsana sadece biçimsel olarak yaklaşır ve bunun sonucu olarak kişi dünyasına inemeyen sonuçlar oluşur.Yeni oluşumlarla yani Yeniler Grubuyla resmin biçim bozmacı yüzeysel anlatımlarına karşı çıkılır ve kişi dünyasını sosyal koşullarını anlatmayı esas alan çalışmalar başlar. Kısa süren bir soyut dönemin ardından ressamlar samimi anlatımlar içeren resimlerle üsluplarını geliştirip, sosyal gerçekliği dışa vuran duyarlı portreler üretir.Özgün arayışlar daha sonra 1980'de de yükselerek devam eder. Portre resminin sadece biçimsel ve üslupsal kaygılarla yapılmadığı, felsefi, sosyolojik, psikolojik altyapısının oluşturulduğu bir alan olarak değerlendirilmesi son yıllara rastlar. Kişisel üslupların geliştiği ve gelişmeye devam edeceği yönünde umut verici gelişmeler sürmektedir.

The portrait and the self-portrait genre enters the human life at the middle of the 19th centuries. The first appliers of the portrait genre, has the anxiety of composing a modern image of woman. In the autoportraits, they have the anxiety of proving the presence of themselves as an artist.With the opening of the first art education establishment, the art starts to spread to the society. The artists develop themselves with the help of foreign education. There are some portraits are produced which combines the academy and the impressionism.Portrait has taken a different shape with the effects of the periodical styles. Especially, ?Separates? and ?the d Group? artists composes the humanity in a formal style. As a result, there are som consequences which cannot get into the world of humanity.With the new developments, the format-breaker superficial explanations are being rejected of the art. Then, there exists some performances which explains the social conditions of the humanity. After this short abstract era, the artists develop their styles which contain candid compositions. They produced sensitive portraits which show the social reality.The seek for the orginiality rises in the 1980?s. In this period of time, there is not only formal or stylish anxiety. This genre is evaluated as a philosophical, sociological, psychological area at the previous years. There are some hopeful developments for the achievement of the personal styles in the near future.
