Özet
Bu çalışma, Nietzsche'nin erken dönem metinlerini temel alarak, klasik filolojiye duyduğu ilgiden hareketle, Grek kültürüne bağlanışını döneminin modern toplumuna yaptığı eleştirilerle ilişkilendirerek araştırmayı amaçlamaktadır. Nitekim filozof kimliğiyle olduğu kadar filolog kimliğiyle de karşımıza çıkan Nietzsche'nin Grek kültürüne bağlanışı, kariyerinin bütün dönemlerinde düşüncesinin odaklarını belirler. Bu bağlamda, Nietzsche'nin özellikle erken dönem metinlerinde, Grek toplumu ve Batı toplumu arasında yapmış olduğu karakteristik ayrımlar bu çalışmanın temel çerçevesini oluşturmaktadır. Grek kültürü ile Batı kültürü arasında kurulan bu ilişkinin, Batı metafiziğine, dolayısıyla Hıristiyanlığa yöneltilen eleştirilerin önemli bir parçası oluşu da çalışmanın temel argümanlarından biridir. Nietzsche modern Batılı topluma yönelik eleştirisinin kaynağına, Greklerin trajik çağında bulduğu oluşa dayalı, olumlayıcı, yaratıcı, varoluşsal aktif gücü yerleştirir. Ayrıca bu çalışmada, Nietzsche'nin modern Batılı topluma yönelik bütüncül eleştirisinin karakteristiklerinden hareketle, düşüncesinin postmodern/postyapısalcı düşüncenin eğilimleriyle çakıştığı bazı temel noktalara da değinilmiştir.

Taking his interest in classical philology as its departure point this study aims to search Nietzsche?s commitment to Greek culture, associating it with his criticism of modern society in his time, on the ground of his earlier texts. Being known both as a philologist and a philosopher Nietzsche?s commitment to Greek culture defines the main focuses of his thought in his entire career. In this context, the characteristic distinction between the Greek society and the Western one, which he made especially in the texts of his earlier period, is the main frame of this study. The fact that this relation, established by Nietzsche, between the Greek culture and the Western culture is part of the criticism toward the Western metaphysics and therefore Christianity is one of the main arguments of the study. In the core of Nietzsche?s criticism of modern Western society lies becoming-based, affirmative, creative, existential active power that he found in tragic age of the Greek. Besides, some main points on which Nietzsche?s thoughts overlapped with the inclinations of the postmodern/poststructural thought are treated from the characteristics of his total criticism toward modern Western society.
