Özet
Bu tezin ana amacı bilim felsefesinden elde edilmiş apriorizm ve aposteriorizm kavramları çerçevesinde iktisat metodolojisinin tarihsel seyrinin takibidir. İncelediği yapıların sunduğu kırılganlıklarla karşıt metodolojik karakteristiklere sahip doğa bilimleri ve sosyal bilimler arasında metodolojik salınımlar gösteren iktisat, apriori ve aposteriori eğilimler arasında olduğunu ifade edebileceğimiz bir döngüsellik içinde kendi iktisat metodolojisini üretmektedir. Bu temelde, bir taraftan ele alınan konuların en doğru biçimde kavranabilmesi gayretiyle bilim felsefesinin temel yönelimleri belirginleştirilmeye çalışılırken, diğer taraftan da metodolojik çatışmanın şekillendirdiği iktisat okullarının dönüşümleri sorgulanmaktadır. Böylece, teoriyi teorinin kendisi için ihmal eden metodolojik gayretin geçmişine ışık salınırken, iktisat metodolojisinde tespit edilen döngüselliğin belirleyici dinamiklerinin kavranması ümit edilmektedir.

The primary purpose of this dissertation is to provide an account of the historical process of the use of methodology in economics in the context of the concepts of apriorism and aposteriorism drawn from the philosophy of science. Economics is a discipline that entails methodological oscillations between social sciences and natural sciences, where the methodological characteristics of the latter are discordant with the vulnerabilities the structures it examines involve. Therefore, as a discipline, economics generates its own peculiar methodology in a cyclicality that falls somewhere between apriori and aposteriori perspectives. In that regard, this dissertation, on the one hand, aims to make more distinct the major perspectives in the philosophy of science with the concern of rendering the issues under study more accurately understandable, and on the other, questions the transformations of the schools of economics which the methodological conflict has shaped. By doing so, the dissertation sheds a light on the background of the effort that neglects theory for theory's own sake, and aims to make comprehensible the determinative dynamics of the ascertained cyclicality in the methodology of economics.
