Özet
Bu araştırma 2008?2009 öğretim yılında Mersin İli Gülnar ilçesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 8. sınıf öğrencileri ve branş öğretmenlerinin performans görevleri ve bu görevlerde internet kullanımı ile ilgili görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Bu amaç doğrultusunda hazırlanan anket 2008?2009 eğitim-öğretim yılı 2. Döneminde 70 branş öğretmeni ve 299 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır.Çalışma çeşitli alt bölümlere ayrılmıştır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde ödevlerin öğrencilerin başarılarına katkıları, ödevlerde aile desteği ve ödevlerde internet kaynaklarının kullanımı ve Türkiye'deki okulların internete erişim olanakları başlıklarına yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, araştırmanın önemi, amacı, problem ve alt problemler ile sınırlılıklar ve sayıtlılar yer almaktadır. Araştırmanın yöntemi ve araştırma süreci üçüncü bölümde ele alınmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde ise bulgu ve yorumlara yer verilmiş, araştırmanın sonucu ve önerileri de beşinci bölümde ele alınmıştır.Çalışmada, var olan bir durumun ortaya konması nedeni ile tarama (survey) yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu modele uygun olarak hazırlanan anket formları öğrenci ve öğretmenlere uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular SPSS 15 paket programı kullanılarak bilgisayar ortamında frekans ve yüzde tanımlayıcı istatistikleri ve Kay- Kare Testine tabi tutulmuştur.Çalışma sonunda, öğretmen ve öğrencilerin performans görevleri ile ilgili olumlu görüşlere sahip olmalarına rağmen, bazı aksaklıkların bu görevlerden yeterli verim elde edilmesini engellediği, performans görevlerinde internet kullanımının ise bilgiye erişim konusunda öğrenciler arasındaki fırsat eşitliği sağlamaya yardımcı olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca performans görevleri konusunda çeşitli öneriler ile beraber bundan sonra yapılabilecek çalışma önerileri sunulmuştur.

The present research is conducted to determine the views of 8th graders and branch teachers on performance tasks and internet usage while conducting these tasks in Gülnar/Mersin at the 2008-2009 academic year.Hence, a questionnaire, designed for this particular purpose, was subjected to 70 branch teachers and 299 8th grade students in the second term of the 2008-2009 academic year.The study is divided into the following subsections:The first section deals with the contribution of assignments to students success, family support for the assignments, and use of internet and the capabilities of the schools in Turkey to have internet access. The second section is about the significance, aim, problems and sub problems, limitations and hypotheses. The method and procedure of the study is covered in the third section. The fourth section gives the findings and interpretation of these; whereas the fifth section is about the results and suggestions.As the present study aims to determine the current condition, the method of the present study is a survey. Hence, a questionnaire was applied to the teachers as well as students. Data obtained were subjected to the programs within the SPSS 15 package program; namely, frequency and percentage statistics and Kay- Square test.At the end of the study it was seen that, though the teachers and the students have positive thoughts about performance assignments, some handicaps limit the efficiency of these tasks and the use of internet was regarded as a mean to provide help for equality among the students in their access to information. Furthermore, some suggestions have been made for performance assignments besides task suggestion to be conducted in future.
