Özet

ABSTRACT,.,,A COMPUIEELBASEaSIGNAL ACgUISITIO^ AND EYALUATION SYSTEM, FOR APPLICATIONS DST NEUROPHYSIOLOGY HENDRICKS, Nafiz Jack MS. in Biology Supervisor: Y. Doç. Dr. Ewa DO?RU January, 1993, 64 pages A computer based system meeting the requirements of the neurobiological research going on in our lab was designed for signal acquisition, storage and transfer to a higher-processing-power computer, IBM 3090, located on METU network. The intention was to maximally utilise the resources already available. Signal acquisition system has modular structure for the ease of up-grading and reorganization depending on the purpose of investigation. Keal-time data display was implemented for on-line control and evaluation of the experiment. Analog and digital filters was used to produce possibly high signal-to-noise ratio. PDP-11 minicomputer based signal acquisition system includes a shielded room, a hand made, low noise, 8-channel diffierential amplifier, a sofhvare for PDP-11 that manages data organization, control över the signal acquisition, temporary storage and transfer of data to IBM PC. A sofhvare for IBM PC receives incoming data and reorganizes it to provide comnıercial compatibility necessary for the fürther analysis and easy retrieval. Analysis of multi-dimensional electrophysiological data needs high processing power. Instead of employing an expensive workstation, we used network to access IBM 3090 mainframe. iiiSistemi test etmek için, siçandan uyarilmis duyum potansiyellleri toplandi. Coherent ve seçilerek avarajlama uygulandi. Bu sinyaller zaman baglaminda incelendi.

The obtained data was analysed in time domain.
