ÖZ KLASİK DÖNEM ARKEOLOJİK ALANLARDA DE?ER SAPTAMASI VE PRESENTASYON AMAÇLARININ BELİRLENMESİ UYGULAMA ÖRNEKLEMESİ: ZEUS SUNA?I, PERGAMON KUTAY, Deniz Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Restorasyon Anabilim Dalı Tez Yöneticisi: Prof. Dr. Cevat ERDER Eylül, 1993, 275 sayfa. Dünyada ve Türkiyede, arkeolojik sitlerin korunması ve tanıtımı konularına karşı artan bir ilgi vardır. Bu araştırma eserlerin fiziksel sağlığını göz önünde tutarak, klasik dönem arkeolojik alanlardaki eserlerin tanıtım problemleri ile ilgilenmeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu çerçevede çalışma iki kısımda ele alınmıştır; kuram ve uygulama Örneklemesi. Kuramsal bölüm, tanıtım problemini en objektif bir şekilde günümüz normlarından faydalanarak açıklamayı amaçlamış, öncelikle eserlere uygulanabilecek müdahale şekillerini belirlemede etken olan değer kavramını araştırarak, restorasyon ana ilke ve metodlarını saptamıştır. Bunların içinde önemli yeri olan özgünlük kavramı incelenmiştir. Son olarak da terminoloji ve ana yaklaşım metotları belirlenmiştir. Uygulama örneklemesinde Bergama'daki Zeus Sunağı çalışılmıştır. Derlenen bilgilerindeğerlendirmesi ışığında Zeus Sunağının değerleri saptanmış ve tanıtım problemi üç varsayımda tartışılmıştır.

ABSTRACT ASSESSMENT OF VALUES AND OBJECTIVES OF PRESENTATION OF CLASSICAL PERIOD ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES CASE STUDY: ZEUS ALTAR, PERGAMON KUTAY, Deniz M.S. in Restoration Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Cevat ERDER September, 1993, 275 pages. In the world and in Turkey, there is an ever-growing concern for the protection and presentation of archaeological sites. This inquiry aimed to deal with one aspect of the problem; the presentation side of the issue of classical period archaeological sites, keeping in mind the long term welfare of the remain. Within this framework, the study is handled in two parts; theory and case study. The theory section, aiming to deal with the problem of presentation in the most possible objective way, using the current norms, firstly expounds on the concept of value, the notion being vital in the determination of the type of interventions that could be carried out on material remains. Advancing further, the main principles and methods of restoration are discussed. As the most essential notion, the significance of 'authenticity' is m JKSEKÖ?RETÎM KU-ULU DOKÜMANTASYON MERKF7Îdemarcated. Then the terminology and main methods of approach are outlined. For the case study, Zeus Altar of Pergamon is investigated. In the evaluation of the data, various attributed values of the Zeus Altar is assessed and the problem of presentation is discussed based on situations determined by three assumptions.
