Özet
Bu çalışmada, Levinas'ın düşüncesini etkileyen felsefi ve dini kaynakların yanısıra hem onun düşüncesini daha iyi anlamamızı sağlayan temel kavram ve sorunları hem de ilk felsefe olarak etik anlayışını ve ahlâk siyaset ilişkisini inceledik.Levinas felsefesinin özü, Başka insanın hümanizmidir. Levinas kendi felsefesini istencin özgürlüğünden daha eski olan bir özgürlüğe kapı aralama çabası olarak tanımlar. Böyle bir felsefe değerler üzerinden ya da daha doğrusu etik üzerinden yapılır.Levinas, etik'i ontolojiden ayrıştırıp onu felsefenin sıradan bir disiplini olmaktan çıkarır. Böylece etik tüm felsefenin kendinde temellendiği bir ilk felsefe haline gelir. Ona göre etik, başka(sı) ile `karşılaşma' ya da başkası'nı `buyur ediş'tir. Bu etik, `kendi'ni başkasına feda etme ya da `kendi'ni başka herkesten daha suçlu ve sorumlu görme esasına dayanan bir etik olarak karşımıza çıkar. Bu nedenle etik, başkasıyla ilişkidir ve etiğin anlamı başkasına karşı sorumluluk çerçevesinde ortaya konulur. Dolayısıyla etik bir ilişki, birinden faydalanmayı değil kendini birisi için yararlı hale getirmeyi içerir. Levinas'ta etiğin başkasıyla ilişki olarak görülmesi sosyalliktir ve ona göre dünyada üç kişi olduğu anda, başkasıyla kurulan ahlâki ilişki siyasi bir nitelik kazanır.

This study is intended to examine the philosophical and religious sources that affected Levinas?s philosophy, the basic concepts and issues that enable us his thought better and his understanding of ethics as his early philosophy together with the connection he draws between ethics and politics.The essence of Levinas?s philosophy is the humanism of the Other. Levinas defines his own philosophy as an effort to open the door from willpower to an older version of freedom. Such a philosophy is done through values or ethics.Levinas separates ethics from ontology and thus frees it from being an ordinary discipline of philosophy solely. Thus ethics becomes a first philosophy on which all philosophy is based. To him, ethics means `confronting? or `inviting? the other. Such ethics appears as a form of ethics based on sacrificing oneself for the other or regarding oneself as more guilty and responsible than everyone. Therefore, ethics is related to the other and the meaning of ethics is defined within the framework of being responsible towards the other. That is why an ethical relationship includes not taking advantage of someone but making oneself useful for him. Regarding ethics as a relationship with the other is socialisation in Levinas and for him an ethical relationship with the other gains a political characteristic once there are three people in the world.
