Özet
Bu gün Mizâc diye isimlendirdiğimiz mefhumun tarihi eski Mısır'a kadar gitmektedir. Fakat bu mefhum Yunanlıların elinde ciddi değişime uğramış ve kavramlaşmıştır. Onlar bu mefhumu ?Temp?r?mentum? kavramıyla karşılaşmışlardır. Tercüme hareketi neticesinde İslam coğrafyası da bu kavramla tanışmıştır. Bu coğrafyanın sakinleri kavramı Yunanlılardan almış, onu ?Mizâc? kelimesiyle karşılamış, işlemiş ve içeriğini geliştirmiştir. Buna paralel olarak pek çok müellif bu kavramı ve içeriğini eserlerinde konu edinmiştir. Mizâc kavramını eserlerinde işleyen müelliflerden biri de İbn Sînâ'dır. O, Mizâc kavramını Tabiat Felsefesi çerçevesinde ele alıp incelemiştir. Bunun bir sonucu olarak kavramın, diğer alanların yanı sıra Psikoloji ve Tıp literatüründe yeri bulunmaktadır. İbn Sînâ kavramı tıpta ?hastalık-sağlık? çerçevesinde incelemiş, psikolojide ise onun ?Nefs? ile ilişkisi üzerinde durmuştur. Tıp ilmi açısından İbn Sînâ, dengeli mizâcın sağlığı, dengesiz mizâcın ise hastalığı beraberinde getirdiğini belirmiştir. Psikoloji ilmi açısından ise o, mizâcın nefsin varlığı, kuvvetleri, bilgi elde etmesi ve huy/huylar (ahlak) edinmesi ile ilişki içerisinde olduğunu beyan etmiştir.

The history of notion which is at present called Mizâj (in English?Temperament?) backs to the ancient Egypt. But this notion underwent a changeseriously and was conceptualized in the hand of ancient Greek. That notion wasconceptualized with ?Temp?r?mentum?. After the translation movement form Greek toArabic, Islamic Geography met that notion. The habitants of that geography took thenotion from Greek and conceptualized it with the ?Mizâj? and developed its contentswell. In parallel with that situation, many scholars made the Mizâj and its contentssubject in their treatises. One of those scholars is Ibn Sina. He analyzed the concept ofMizâj within the frame of the Nature Philosophy. As a result of this, there is a place ofthe concept in Psychology and Medical literature as well as other science. Ibn Sinaanalyzed the concept in medicine within the frame of ?sickness-health?; in psychology,he emphasized the relationship between Mizâj and Nefs (human soul). From the pointof medicine Ibn Sina stated that balanced Mizâj cause the health and unbalanced Mizâjcause the sickness. From the point of Psychology Ibn Sina stated that there is arelationship between Mizâj and the existence of Nefs, powers of Nefs (quwa an-nafs),the knowledge obtainment of Nefs, the habit/habits (morality) procurement of Nefs.
