Özet

Bir ülkenin en önemli kaynaklarından biri yetiştirdiği nitelikli insan gücüdür. Nitelikli insanları yetiştirmede ise mesleki eğitim en etkili yollardan biri olarak görülmektedir. Günümüzde mesleki eğitimin önemi üzerinde durulmakta ve bu alanda geleceğe yönelik bir çok reform yapılmaya çalışılmaktadır. Özellikle mesleki eğitime olan ilginin arttırılması ve mesleki eğitimin yaygınlaştırılması için çeşitli adımlar atılmaktadır. Bireylerin mesleki eğitime ilk adımlarını atmadan önce mesleki eğitim hakkındaki düşünceleri, yargıları ve ihtiyaçlarının belirlenmesinin önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu sebeple mesleki eğitim veren liselere geçişten önce ilköğretim öğrencilerinin mesleki ve teknik eğitim hakkındaki algılarının bilinmesi önemlidir.Nitel olarak desenlenen bu çalışmada ilköğretim öğrencilerinin mesleki ve teknik eğitim hakkındaki algılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tokat Merkezde bulunan farklı sosyo ekonomik düzeye sahip olan 10 farklı ilköğretim okulundaki 846 8. sınıf öğrencisi çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Öğrencilere 12 maddeden oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış bir anket uygulanmış ve veriler betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir.Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, öğrencilerin mesleki eğitim veren lise ile akademik eğitim veren liseyi birbirinden ayıramadıkları belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin en çok gitmek istedikleri lise türü Sağlık Meslek lisesi olarak bulunmuştur. Aynı şekilde öğrencilerin meslek lisesi dendiğinde ilk akıllarına gelen lise Sağlık Meslek Lisesi'dir. Öğrencilerin bir kısmının meslek liselerine karşı olumsuz değer yargılarına ve kavram yanılgılarına sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin lise seçim aşamasında en çok ailelerinden etkilendikleri en az ise arkadaşlarından etkilendikleri bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin en çok sahip olmayı istedikleri meslek, öğretmenlik mesleğidir. Çalışma ışığında öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğunun mesleki rehberlik hizmetleri almadıkları görülmüştür. Buna rağmen, öğrencilerin çoğunluğu sahip olmayı istedikleri mesleğe uygun bir liseye gitmek istemektedirler. Öğrencileri meslek seçiminde en çok etkileyen değişkenin başarı olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Öğrencilerin kendilerine uygun mesleği ilköğretimin farklı dönemlerinde düşündüğü ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin bir çoğunun mesleki ve teknik eğitim hakkında çok şey bilmedikleri ve mesleki ve teknik eğitim ile ilgili kavramlar hakkında algılarının çeşitlilik gösterdiği görülmüştür.

One of the most important sources of a country is the qualified manpower. Vocational training is considered to be one of the most efficient ways of bring up qualified people. Today, people lay emphasis on the importance of vocational training and many reforms are being made for the future in this field. Some of the steps have been to increase the interest in vocational training and to make it widespread. It is thought to be important that individuals determine their opinions, attitudes and needs related to vocational training before they step into vocational training. Therefore, it is important to know the perceptions of primary school students about vocational and technical education before they start to study in vocational high schools.The goal of this study figured qualitatively is to determine the perceptions of primary school students about vocational and technical education. 846 8 students from 10 different high schools of different socio-economic levels in the centre of Tokat have been included in the study. The students have been applied a semi-structured survey of 12 articles. A descriptive analysis has been carried out.According to the results of the study, it has been revealed that the student could not differentiate between high schools of vocational education and high schools of academic education. It has been found out that the school that the students most want to go is Medical Vocational High School. It has been seen that some of the students have misconceptions and negative judgements about vocational high schools. It has been observed that students are most influenced by their parents while they are least influenced by their friends in the selection of high schools. The profession most preferred by the students is teaching. Under the light of the study, it has been determined that most of the students cannot receive vocational guidance. Still, most of the students want to go to a high school suitable for their professional plans. It has been concluded that the variable that most influences the students in their selection of their vocation is success. It has been revealed that students think of the profession suitable for them in different periods of primary education. It has also been seen that the majority of students have little information about vocational and technical education and they have various perceptions about conceptions related to vocational and technical education.
