Özet
Bu tezin esas amacı gruplar ile ilgili temel tanım ve teoremlerle birlikte bol miktarda problemi çözümleriyle beraber vererek grupları tanıtmaktır. Bu amaçla incelenen konular aşağıdaki şekilde bölümler halinde verildi:Birinci bölümde, tezin içeriği ile ilgili bir giriş yapıldı.İkinci bölümde, temel grup kavramı verildi ve çözümlü problemlerle desteklendi.Üçüncü bölümde, altgruplar ve kosetlerle ile ilgili temel tanım ve teoremler verildi. Bu temel tanım ve teoremlerle ilgili çözümlü problemler sunuldu. Lagrange teoremi ve devirli gruplar da bu bölümde verildi.Dördüncü bölümde, normal altgruplar ve bölüm grupları ile ilgili temel tanım, teoremler ve bunlarla ilgili çözümlü problemler verildi.Beşinci bölümde, homomorfizmalar ve izomorfizmalar ile ilgili temel tanım, teoremler ve bunlarla ilgili çözümlü problemler verildi. Ayrıca izomorfizma teoremleri de bu bölümde verilerek ilgili problemler çözüldü.Altıncı bölümde, permütasyon grupları ile ilgili temel tanım, teoremler ve bunlarla ilgili çözümlü problemler verildi. Ayrıca her grubun aslında bir permütasyon grubuna izomorfik olduğunu ifade eden Cayley teoremi de bu bölümde verildi. Bu teorem çözümlü problemlerde reprezentasyonlar yardımı ile uygulandı.

The main object of this thesis is to introduce the groups. At this point, some elementary definitions and theorems are given, and also a great number of problems are solved. This thesis consists of six chapters:In the first chapter, an introduction is given dealing with the thesis.In the second chapter, the elementary consept of a group is given, and this is supported by solved problems.In the third chapter, elementary definitions and theorems related to subgroups and cosets are given. Solved problems related to these elementary definitions and theorems are presented. Also Lagrange?s theorem and cyclic groups are given in this chapter, too.In the fourth chapter, elementary definitions, theorems and solved problems related to normal subgroups and quotient (or factor) groups are given.In the fifth chapter, elementary definitions, theorems and solved problems related to homomorphisms and isomorphisms are given. Also the isomorphism theorems are given and related problems solved in this chapter.In the sixth chapter, elementary definitions, theorems and solved problems related to permutation groups are given. Also Cayley?s theorem shows that every abstract group is essentially isomorphic to a permutation group. This theorem is practised by using the representations in the problems.
