Nearly half of our population has been living in villages in our developing country. It can't be said that our peasants have reached to a satisfactory life level. Up to now many projects have been made to examine the rural conditions to improve, to develop the most suitable solutions. In this work the conditions of the houses in the villages in Erzurum have been examined, the matter of housing has been tried to be made clear in various details. The new housing projects which will be able to reply the needs of peasants have been tried to be given, considering the local conditions and habits with known problems. It has been seen that all the houses examined were simple buildings, built in primitive conditions and far away from technological developments. In the proj ect the aim of usages and the needs of persons haven't been considered. The cheap and available construction materials have been preferred. The other mechanic features and durability haven't been considered. It has been reached the following conclusions; it is neceassarJ to use the modern construction technology and materials in the future village houses, in forming unities the architectural pecularities should be considered. The rules about construction should be obeyed and more useful and healty houses should be built.
