Özet (Çeviri)

Fınger-tip and· palmar configuration of 26 male and 30 female, a total of 56 patients with beta thalassemia (f3-Thal) and theİr 20 mal e and 38 female relatives who were carriers for the trait a total of 58 individuals were compared withthose of 250 rrale and 250 female, a total of 500 control cases. Besides, the flexion creases of the patients with f3-thalassemia were compared with those of 1859 male 1674 female, a total of 3533 control cases. There were more radial loops, and less TRC' s on the finger- tips and more ,....... H loops on the pa1ms of the patients with f3-thalassemia. When the dermatoglyphics of the patients were compared with those of the camers there were more t", and tb triradii and less t triradii on the palms of the patients. The mean for pa1mar atd angles of both hands of the male patients was high than those of the control males. The palmar A - lines of the patients were frequently terminated on 4 and 5' regions. There were more Sidney lines on the left pa1ms of male and female patients than those of the control cases. There were more whorls and arches and less ulnar loops on the finger- tips of the patients with f3-thalassemia. The mean for total finger ridge - count was tower ın the male carriers and was higher in the female camers. The palmar nı toops and t triradii were increased and nıT configrations and H loops and t' triradii were deereased on the palms of the earriers. The mean for palmar atd angles of both hands and the left of male and female earriers were deereased. The palrnar A- lines on the palrns of the camers were frequently openıng toward 3 the region. There were more simian lines on the right palms of the female carriers (Figure 13). As a result, remarkable dermatoglyphic peculiarities of homozygotes were an increase of radial loops on finger-tips, lower total finger ridge-counts, an increase in distal loops within hypothenar areas distally displaced axial triradii and a higher frequency of Sidney lines in both male and female patients. Remarkable dermatoglyphic patterns were lower in heterozygotes. According to these findings, there is a relationship between hereditary f3-thalassernia and dermatoglyphic characteristies known to be hereditary as well and they could be useful in the diagnosis of a mutatİon in the molecular level reflecting to the dermatoglyphics.
