Özet
Çevre konusunda yapılan araştırmaların sayısı insanların çevre sorunlarına olan dikkatini arttırmıştır. Çevrenin zarar görmesi ve çevreyi oluşturan tüm varlıkların yok olma ihtimali çözüm arayışlarını hızlandırmıştır. Araştırmacılar sorunlara kalıcı çözüm üretmek için insanların çevre eğitimi almaları gerektiğini vurgulamışlardır. Çevre eğitimini planlamak ve etkili kılmak için bireylerin çevre bilgisi ve çevre tutum düzeylerinin bilinmesi önemlidir. Bu amaçla yapılan çalışmada, ortaokulda öğrenim görmekte olan öğrencilerin çevre bilgisi ve çevreye yönelik tutumlarının düzeyleri farklı değişkenlere göre karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Çanakkale il merkezinde rastgele seçilen 6 ortaokulda öğrenim gören 536 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Örneklemden veriler elde edilirken Atasoy (2005) tarafından geliştirilen çevre bilgi anketi ve çevre tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca ortaokul öğrencilerinin çevre bilgi ve çevre tutumlarını etkileyen faktörleri tespit etmek için kişisel bilgi formu kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır. Veri toplama araçları öğrencilere bir ders saati içerisinde uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 21 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Toplanan verilere bağımsız değişkenler için t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi uygulanmıştır. Sonuçta, öğrencilerin çevre bilgi ve çevre yönelik tutumları cinsiyet, sınıf, anne eğitim, çevre ve doğa ile ilgili bilgileri merak etme, doğal alanları ziyaret etme, çevre kirlenmesinin sonucunu önemseme, çevrenin kirlenmesi hakkında düşüncesine göre anlamlı olarak değişmektedir. Yine, ortaokul öğrencilerinin çevre bilgi düzeylerini baba eğitim, yerleşim yeri, çevre dersi veya eğitimi alma ve çevre ile ilgili bilgi kaynağı değişkenleri anlamlı olarak etkilemekte ancak çevre tutum düzeylerini etkilememektedir. Araştırmanın sonucunda elde edilen sonuçların rehberliğinde gerekli öneriler sunulmuştur.

The number of the researches on environment has increased people's attention on environmental problems. The possibility of the environmental damage and the extinction of all creatures that form the environment has quickened the solution seeking. Researchers have emphasized that people should take the environmental education to generate a permanent solution for the problems. It is important to know the individuals' knowledge of the environment and the level of their attitudes towards it to plan the environmental education and dynamise this education. In the research which has been done for this purpose, the environmental knowledge of the students who are in secondary school and the levels of their attitudes towards environment have been compared according to different factors. Six secondary schools have been chosen arbitrarily in the city center of Çanakkale and 536 students who study in these schools have constituted the sample of the research. While acquiring data from the sample, the environmental information survey and the environmental attitude scale reformed by Atasoy (2005) have been used. Besides this, some data have been collected by using personal information forms to identify the factors that affect secondary school students' knowledge of environment and their environmental attitudes. Data collection tools have been put into practice in one course hour. The acquired data has been analyzed by using SPSS 21 programme. For independent variables to the collected data, t-test and one way analysis of variance have been applied. In conclusion, the knowledge of the students about environment and their attitudes towards the environment change expressively according to gender, grade, maternal education, the sense of wonder About the nature and the environment, visiting natural areas and caring about the outcome of the environmental pollution. Nevertheless, paternal education, residental area, taking environmental course or education and information source variances related to environment affect the level of the students' knowledge about the environment pointedly, but they do not affect their environmental attitude levels. The essential suggestions have been put forward under the guidance of the results which have been acquired by the research.
