Özet
Tanzimat Fermanı'nın ilanıyla Osmanlı Devleti'nde çeşitli düzenlemeler yapılmıştır. Bu düzenleme çalışmaları sonucunda temettuât defterleri de oluşturulmuştur. Bu defterlerin tutuluş amacı vergi tespitidir. Defterler hane reislerinin meslek, emlak, arazi, hayvan sayıları, gelirleri gibi her türlü malını ve bunlar için ödemesi gereken vergilerini içermektedir. Defterlerde hane reislerinin ayrıntılı kaydının yapılması kişiler ve bölge hakkında önemli bilgiler vermektedir. Bu yönüyle defterler XIX. yüzyıl Osmanlı şehir ve köylerinin sosyo-ekonomik tarihine ışık tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmada H. 1260-1261 / M. 1844-1845 yıllarına ait Uzunköprü Temettuât Defterleri'ne dayanılarak şehrin sosyo-ekonomik yapısı ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Böylece bu dönemde şehrin nüfusu ile burada yaşayan insanların ekonomik ve sosyal durumu tespit edilmiştir.

Various regulations were done in Ottoman State with the declaration of Tanzimat. As a result of these studies of regulation, Temettuât registers were constructed. The aim of keeping these registers is to determine taxes. These registers involve various belongings such as occupation, property, field, the number of animals and income, which belong to household heads and the taxes that are necessary to pay for these belongings. Keeping detailed records about household heads in Temettuât Registers gives important information about individuals and region. With this aspect, Registers enlighten the socio-economic history of Ottoman cities and villages in the nineteenth century. In this work, socio-economic form of the city was revealed based on Temettuât Registers about Uzunköprü belonging to H. 1260-1261 / M. 1844-1845. Thus, the population of the city in this period and economical and social status of the people who live in this region were determined.
