Özet

Bu tez yaratıcı ve kısıtlarından kurtulmuş bir ortam yaratmak için motive edici bulunan halüsinasyon kavramını tartışmaktadır. Halüsinasyona sürüklenme bir süreçtir. Tez iç içe geçen sürüklenmelerden oluşmaktadır. Zihnin yaşadığı sürüklenme süresince 'mikrocoğrafya' olarak tanımlanan, imgelerle yaratılmış zihinsel peyzajda 'çarpışmalar' yaşanır. Bu çarpışmalar 'bükülmelere' neden olur. Bükülmelerin yarattığı 'halüsinasyon' haliyse yaratıcı bir süreç içinde zihnin içinde bulunduğu durumdur. Tez sürüklenmeyi, bu süreç içinde mikrocoğrafya içinde yaşanan çarpışma, bükülme ve yaratılan halüsinasyon halini tartışırken, tezin kendisi de bir sürüklenme olarak deneyimlenmiştir. Yazarın kendi mikrocoğrafyası içinde yaşanan çarpışma ve bükülmelerle halüsinasyon halinde yaratılmış tez bir 'halüsinasyon mekanı' olarak düşünülmelidir. Tez yazarın mikrocoğrafyasından alınmış kesitlerdir. Bu kişisel alandan yola çıkarak, zihnin yaratıcı düşünceye sürüklendiği anlar üzerine sorular sorar. Yaratıcı edim bükülmedir. Tez ürettiği kavramların bilinen anlamlarını bükerek kendi düşüncesini yaratmaya çalışır. Bu nedenle tezde söz edilen kavramları anlamak için okuyan zihinlerin bükülmüş anlamlar olduklarını göz önünde bulundurmaları önemlidir. Tez, oluş halinde olduğu düşünülen anlamlara dair kesin tanımlar yapmaktan kaçınır, şeylerin fragman halindeki anlamlarını tartışır. Tez her türlü otoriteden kurtulmuş bir durumun hayalini kurar. Halüsinasyon halinde kısıtlarından kurtulmuş zihin, kısıtlarından kurtulmuş mekanı yaratır. Halüsinasyon mekanları, sanal-gerçek arasında, oluş halindeki mekanın ve mekanı deneyimleyen oluş halindeki kişinin birbirine dolanarak yarattığı sarmalda anlık olarak var olur. Kişi-mekan-sesler-imajlar-imgeler-sözcükler-şehir çarpışır. Çarpışmayla gerçekleşen bükülmelerin yarattığı mekan sanal-gerçek arasında var olan halüsinasyon mekanıdır. Her aşama rastlantısallığa açıktır. Halüsinasyon mekanı sonsuz bükülmelerle devamlı değişim halinde, oluş halinde mekandır. Tez ortaya attığı halüsinasyon mekanı kavramının mimarlık açısından potansiyellerini tartışmaktadır. Yeni medya, dijital teknoloji, malzeme-malzemesizlik teknolojilerinin geldiği noktayı ve mimarlığın bu teknolojileri, interneti ne amaçla kullandığını ama aslında başka ne amaçlarla kullanabileceğini tartışırken, var olan mekan ve mimarlık tanımlarını bükmektedir. Halüsinasyon mimarlığı, kısıtlarından kurtulmuş mimarlıktır. Malzeme-malzemesizlik arasında, mikro-makro arasında, mimar-mimarsızlık arasında, sanal-gerçek, yer-yersizlik, form-formsuzluk arasındadır. Bükülmüş bir mimarlıktır. Halüsinasyon mimarı kaleydoskop tasarlayandır. Mekanı yaratacak çarpışmanın fonksiyonunu tasarlamaktadır. Kaleydoskop bükmenin aracıdır. Tez, kaleydoskop kavramına kendi bükülmüş tanımlarını yapmaktadır. Halüsinasyon mekanları yaratmak üzere kaleydoskop denemeleriyle devam etmektedir. Mikro ölçekte, mikro zamanda var-olan halüsinasyon mekanlarının ağa dahil oldukları durum artık bir şehirdir. Tez, halüsinasyon mekanlarının yarattığı şehri tartışır. Bu şehir de akış halinde bir şehirdir. Kişisel-kamusal algıları ve gündelik hayat alışkanlıkları da bükülmüştür. Tez, kendi bükülmüş gerçekliğini yaratmaktadır. Mikrocoğrafya, çarpışma, bükülme, halüsinasyon kavramlarını ve halüsinasyon mekanları yaratmayı tartışır. Bu tartışma yazarın kendi mikrocoğrafyası içerisinde ve çarpışmalarla yarattığı bükülmelerle deneyimlediği bir sürüklenme olarak tasarlanan rastlantısal bir yolculuktur. Yaratılan bükülmüş gerçeklikle halüsinasyon halinde yazılan tezin kendisi de bir halüsinasyon mekanıdır. Tez savunma sunumu süresince anlık olarak mekansallaşmış, bedenleri sarmıştır. Bu deneyime dair görseller halüsinasyon mekanları tasarlamak bölümünde bulunmaktadır. Tez, okuyan her zihinde farklı bükülmelerle anlık olarak var olmaya devam edecektir.

When the body walks through the streets of the city, the mind roams trough the virtual geography of itself. The mind is exposed to spaces, cities, words, dialogues, images, sounds. It strolls in the pages of a book, in a song it has listened, in a dialogue it has entered, a movie it has seen. All micro experiences create images. People create a personal forest by these images. These personal forest is called as 'microgeography, personal landscape' in this thesis. Each person has their own microgeography where all these micro images are converted as a fold of geography. All perception and creation which belong to 'things' are created by the images of that microgeography. People live in between the personal landscape which is grown in their and the physical space. The process of creation actualized by the passing through from virtual to in-between space and then physicality. So, the perception of reality is very personal. The folds of microgeography are always in motion. The person is in the state of becoming. Momentary micro encounters are important in that geography. Each encounter causes micro bendings of the perception. Bendings of perception creates the hallucination. Thus, the perception of space is in flux, in-between, the space is also in the state of becoming. The space has differentiation momentary because of the bendings in the microgeography. The thesis considers important 'moment' as time, 'micro' as scale, 'in-between space' between virtual and actual as space. This in-between space will be defined as 'hallucination space' in this thesis.The thesis discusses the space in between the mental streets of the microgeography and the street of the actual city. The streets of the mental city of person and the streets of the physical city start to intertwine. This is the hallucination; the state of exception. This thesis discusses the hallucination concept which is found motivating to create an environment which is creative and freed from its limitations. The drift towards hallucination is a kind of process. The thesis consists of intricated drifts. During the drift that is experienced by the mind, 'encounters' have occurred through the 'microgeography' which is defined as cognitive landscape, created with the images. These encounters cause 'bendings'. The integral of the bendings create 'hallucination'. Hallucination is the state that the mind experiences during a creative process. While discussing the drift, the encounters, the bends, the state of hallucination which are experienced in the microgeography during the process, the thesis has experienced as a drift by the writer. The thesis, which is created by the encounters, bendings in the author's own microgeography in the state of hallucination, should be thought as a hallucination space. The thesis is the sections taken from the author's own microgeography. Based on this personal landscape, it questions the moments the mind drifts to creative thinking. The creative act is bending. The thesis tries to create its own thoughts by bending the known meanings of the concepts it produced. Thus, to understand the concept which is used throughout the thesis any mind who read the thesis should remember the act of bending. The thesis refrains from making precise definitions about the concepts that are considered to be in the state of becoming, discusses the fragment meanings of the things. The thesis imagines a state which is totally freed from authority. The mind freed from limits in state of hallucination creates the space freed from limitations. Hallucination spaces exist momentarily in between virtual-actual, by intertwine of the space in the state of becoming and the person experiences the space in the state of becoming. Person-space-sounds-images-imagery-words-city encounter with each other's. Space created by the bendings occurred by encounter is the hallucination space exist in between virtual-actual. Each stage is open to coincidence. Hallucination space is in continuous change by the act of infinite bending, it is space in the state of becoming. The thesis discusses the potentials of the concept of hallucination spaces that it offers, in terms of architecture. It criticizes the level the new media, digital technology, technology of materiality-immateriality have reached and while discussing for which purposes the architecture uses these technologies but actually for which purposes they are possibly be used, it bends the existing definitions of architecture and space. Hallucination architecture is an architecture freed from limitations. It is in between materiality-immateriality, micro-macro, architect-architectness, virtual-actual, place-nonplace, form-formless. It is a bended architecture. Hallucination spaces is open to all coincidences. The state of person, the music of environment, the relationship by network, and others encounter according to algorithm to create the space. The space is dynamic and in flux because of the endless encounters. The architect of hallucination designs kaleidoscope. Architect designs the function, algorithm of the encounter creates space. Kaleidoscope is the medium of bending. It creates a bending in flux. The thesis will create its own bended definitions of kaleidoscope concept. The thesis continues with kaleidoscope experiment to create hallucination spaces. The thesis discusses some kaleidoscope designs that it offers. These kaleidoscope thoughts shouldn't limit the idea of kaleidoscope and hallucination spaces. They are just some ideas that appear on author's microgeography during the thesis drift. The author will continue the drift after the thesis and will design new kaleidoscopes. The state that the hallucination spaces which exist in micro scale, in micro time, are included to network is a city now. The thesis speculate about the new city organisms which are liquid and formed by the micro hallucination spaces. Perception of private-public and everyday life habits are bended for that city. The thesis creates its own bended reality. It discusses microgeography, encounters, bends, hallucination concepts and creates hallucination spaces. This discussion is a coincidental travel that is designed as a drift and experienced through encounters and bendings in the author's microgeography. The thesis itself which has been written in the state of hallucination is also a hallucination space. The thesis has created a space during the thesis jury and wrapped the bodies. The images of experiments can be found in the kaleidoscope section of the thesis. The thesis will continue to exist momentarily in different ways by bending differently in the each mind that reads it.
