The aim of this study is to consider counselling in Turkish schools in Istanbul and in particular to assess experiences of the counselling process from the perspective of school counsellors. The study took place during the 2012-2013 academic year. In this qualitative study, the literature review explored the themes through current research and ethical guidance. Semi-structured interviews with school counsellors from 6 istanbul secondary schools are carried out, transcripted and ordered into. themes. Lastly, data is analysed by the method of“thematic analysis”., Results are expresseq as findings and discussed in relation to the literature review and finally key recommendations are presented.
