This project is a“desk based”study. Before deciding which points are crucial about the subject, computer data basis belonging to the library of the University of Birmingham, thesis that are . related to this subject, articles from internet servers as ERIC and ASAP, articles from about the industrial relations and/or business life in Germany are scrutinised. In that step of the work, the lecture notes and the knowledge gained in. the course of“International Human Resource Management”were very useful to decide which issues are more crucial. Once the outline and the main points of the dissertation were decided, people who experienced business life in Germany were interviewed. Although some of thein were Germans who know the culture very well, the information hom the expatriates, who can see the differences between Germany and other countries easier, were more useful. When a big part of the dissertation was completed a search on the data basis of the Dusseldorf University was done to complete missing information. The most difficult part of this research was to find current articles and books about the labour relations in Germany. On the other hand periodicals as Economist, and daily business newspapers, as Financial times and Dunya Ekonomi Gazetesi, helped to have updated information about changes and events in German labour relations.
