Ahmad Tabrizi's Shahanshahname can be defined as a historical epic poem. Tabrizi, who lived in Mongolian- Ilkhanian palace, began to compose this work in 730/1329 and was able to finish it in eight years. This book mainly deals with the history of Mongols with a special focus on the Mongolian Ilkhans. Although this piece is not comparable with other works of prominent Iranian poets in terms of literary significance, it is valuable due to its rich content on the contemporary historical events and infuential descriptions of the Mongolian customs as well as its explanations on the correct names of Mongolian Ilkhans. Besides, the book also includes details of their attacks to different territories, which could be considered as a valuable source of information belonging to the this era. The available unique copy of this manuscript was copied in 800 by Mohammad bin Said bin Abdollah Al Qari, which is now in the British Museum in London. It is important in terms of history and literature due to its closeness to the period that the author lived. In this Ph.D dissertation, I set out to introduce the author and the features of this unique manuscript. In addition, I inform about political, social and literary situation prevailed in the period. However, the main focus is, definitely, on the edition-critic of the poem text.
