Main goal of our resarch is to investigate the influence of islam religion over the dynamics of capitalism in the Anatolia region. In our resarch we have prefered to limit our investigation to 13 and 14 century since during this period islam religon established in Anatolia through the effects of Turks. This period is also important since it carries the embryo of the modern political history. And finally this period is also important from both the aspect of interaction between turks, persians, arabs and byzantians and for the maturation of the schools of islamic tradition. Our study has based on a work of Mevlana which has been widely accepted as the explanation of the Quran. We think that this great work of Mevlana is a good choice to trace the effect of islam on the economic behaviour of common people. First part of our study is focused on the methodic discussions to understand the age in which Mesnevi is written. We used the aproachs of both K.Marx and M. Weber related with their works in which they investigate the precapitalist societies. Second part of our study devoted to the discussions about feudal society and ethics of economics. Third part of our study presents the social history of the period while turks propagete islam in Anatolia. vii Fourth part is related with the explanation of tasavvuf from the point of Mevlana's life. Fifth part presents outlines of islamic philosophy. Sixth part explains the the economical-ethical codes of Mesnevi through detailed presentations of the related stories of Mesnevi. Seventh part explorates the effect of islamic economical ethics on the developmental economical models. As a result, I concluded that it is not possible to accept islam as an isoleted cause of retarded development of capitalism in Anatolia. To be able present a mature causal explanation it is necessary to make a multidisciplinary study. Beside thisIt is also necessary to make comparison between similar countries which experience retarded economical capitalist growth.
