Özet (Çeviri)
In this doctoral thesis which entitled“Metallic ware, in Southeastern Anatolia and Its distribution in Anatolia in the Third Millennium B.C.”, it was held the general situation of metallic ware at the sites in Southeastern Anatolia at first. Because of well-firing in the technologically developed kilns and resembling the metal vessels by characteristic surface treatments such as. being generally grey in color, ring burnish and wheel-mark on the surface, this ware was mentioned as“metallic ware”by many of the scholars. Metallic ware which had been supposed to be a ware of Northern Syria itself is now attested at many sites in Southeastern Anatolia as being in its own region. After now an, it must be accepted that metallic ware is the ware of both Southeastern Anatolia and Northeastern Syria. Metallic ware was attested at Girnavas, Gir Bunas, Gir Harrin, Gir Herzem, Gir Karakuvve, Gir Koriye and Teli Ermen in the province of Mardin. Uç Tepe and Pir HUseyin HöyUk in the province of Diyarbakır, Aşağı Yarımca, Harran, Karaçalı HöyUk, Kurban HöyUk, Lidar HöyUk and Titriş HöyUk in the Urfa Province, Samsat and Hayaz HöyUk in the_ province of Adıyaman, Gedikli, Kargamış, Ley 1 i t HöyUk, üy 1 um HöyUk, Şavi HöyUk, Tilmen HöyUk and Zeytin Bahçeli HöyUk in the province of Gaziantep in Southeastern Anatolia. Many of these sites seems to be production centers of this distinguished ware. Metallic ware examples from those sites are different enough in quality and forms. The material included here showed that vessel forms such as, dish, bowl, deep bowl, beaker, jar and bottle are represented and have different types as well. It was also attested that metallic ware is common at the neighboring regions, especially in the southern part ofEastern Anatolia, even though not as common as being in Southeastern Anatolia. At Boy Tepe. Degirmentepe, Korucutepe Körtepe, Nor-şuntepa, Pul ur-Sakyo 1, Tepecik and Tulintepe in the province of Elazığ, at Arslantepe in the Malatya province showed that metallic ware is represented as imports from southern regions. The results which were held in both regions proves that thanks to more researches and excavations the number of sites which would have metallic ware culture will increase, as we 1 1. Metallic ware vessels and sherds from Tell Tayinat and Tarsus in Mediterranean region, from KUltepe and Aiişar in central Anatolia reflects the cultural and trading connections between these regions of Anatolia. It is extremely important that metallic ware was attested so far as Troy in Marmara region. Metallic ware had been dated unsatisfactorily either to Akkadian or to Early Dynastic Period by some scholars. The recent excavations both in Anatolia and Syria proved that this ware was in use during the both period at the second half of the third millennium B.C., as well. The connections in the second half of the third millennium B.C. between Anatolia and Mesopotamia had been proved by the cuneiform inscriptions belonging to Akkadian period. Thantcs to metallic ware being a part of material culture of that period, this relations have another support any more.
