ABSTRACT This research is a M.A. dissertation. The area of the study, Dalaman town centre as well as it's surrounding, is in the west of the Mediterranean Region. Dalaman is a town that belong to Muğla and it is about 90 kilometers away from the city center. The area of the research is about 97 square kilometers (9.700 ha). In the east of the area Fethiye town and Fethiye bay, in the south Mediterranean Sea, in the west Dalaman river, Ortaca and Köyceğiz town, in the north Nuribaba hill take place Dalaman's altitude is 8 metres, and it is 8 kilometres away from the sea. So that Mediterranean Climate is strongly dominant. Average annual rainfall is 1025 mm. Average heat is 17.9C0. In 1990, population in town centre is 15025.154 people is living in per kilometre. In Dalaman Plain, cotton, citrus fruits (lemon, orange and mandalin) are harvested. There are greenhouses in which tomatos ar horvested. Animals is rarsed in order to supply the need of the families in the area of research. The agricultural activities are commercial. Agricultural outputs are being marketed in Tirkiye and olso in abroad. The main industrial activity, in the area of research is Dalaman Paper Factory Transportation activites are in a good position. In 1994 international Dalaman Airport was oppened. Because of the touristic activity, nearly 90 percentage of passengers are coming to Dalaman from abroad. In Recent years, Dalaman Airport has been more active. Although touristic activities have accelerated by the airport, it is not enough in proportion to Dalaman's Turistic capacity. Dalaman has dozens of incredible isands inlets and beaches. In conclusion, Dalaman hasn't developed suffecently, although it has natural, anthropo-geopraphical and environmental cenditions is perfect.
