Özet

Ses fiziksel bir kuvvet, psikolojik bir süreç, ontolojik ve epistemolojik bilgi, mekânsal bir deneyim ve ekolojik bir değer olmak gibi farklı yönlerden sanat tarihinin farklı evrelerinde bir çok sanatçı tarafından konu edilen bir fenomen olmuştur. Özellikle 1960'lı yıllardan itibaren ses kavramı, klasik batı müziği geleneğinden özgürleşerek Ses Sanatı başlığıyla plastik/görsel sanatların bir ifade ve üretim mecrasına dönüşmüştür. Bu çalışma, resim alanında sanatta yeterlik sürecime kadar edindiğim biçimlendirme ve ifade deneyimine ait bilgilerin ses ortamı üzerinde uygulanmasını, görüntüler kullanarak görünür bir imge yaratmak yerine sesleri kullanarak bir zihin görüntüsü olarak imge üretimini konu almaktadır. Tez üç bölümde ses konusunu ele almaktadır, birinci bölüm fiziksel bir olgu olarak ses ve ilişkili kavramları inceler. İkinci bölüm ses ve sanat ilişkisi bağlamında müzikal ses ve plastik/görsel sanatlar alanındaki ses konsepti ayrımını çizer ve bir kategori olarak ses sanatının tarihsel sürecini örneklerle açıklar. Üçüncü bölüm ise bireysel üretim mantığım çerçevesinde ses ve imgenin nasıl ilişkilendirilip biçimlendirildiğini açıklar.

Alongside its being a physical force, a psychological process, onthological and epistemological information, a spatial experience and an ecological value, the phenomenon of sound has been dealt with by many artists in diverse phases of the history of art. Particularly, since the 1960s the concept of sound has become a medium of plastic arts after its liberation from the tradition of Western Classical music. This study revolves around the application of my personal artistic expression, which I have developed until my dissertation in the field of painting, on the medium of sound and it deals with the practice of utilizing sounds in order to create images as the visions of the mind rather than creating an actual visible image. This dissertation is consisted of three chapters; the first chapter analyses the sound as a physical force and the relevant concepts. The second chapter focuses on the discrepancy between the musical sound and the the concept of sound that is employed in plastic arts in the context of relationship between sound and art while it gives a chronological history of sound art with examples. Lastly, the third chapter establishes the framework of my personal production with reference to the process how sound and image are related and formed together.
